Myself (female, age 35), my boyfriend and our two boys (8 and 6) stayed for 7 nights, Friday 29th August to Friday 5th September. PROS: Entertainment was incredible every night. I'm not usually a 'night entertainment' person, but even I thought the entertainment was amazing! The kids loved every show also. There was a Michael Jackson performance, Latin dancers, some performers who drove motorbikes upside down in a big steel ball, some 'baloon man' show for the kids. All absolutely amazing. There is a QR code at every pool umbrella. You scan the code with your phone and simply order what you want from the pool bar. Your drink(s) are with you within 5 mins, served by waiters on roller skates! The waiters will also come round often and ask you what you want too! We tipped one of the skaters a couple of times and he was constantly coming to us with fresh drinks without asking him. He even brought us a huge ice bucket full of beers, Red Bulls, snacks and drinks for the kids without even asking! The pool bar (and all the other hotel bars) serve premium drinks as standard also. Most, if not all, Lara hotels don't do this for all drinks - only Concorde 😁. For example, every time I ordered an 'energy drink' off the menu, I was given Red Bull! All the food was incredible. There is: - A deep fried ice cream balls/Churros Shack ('Ice & Crispy'). The fried ice cream balls are AMAZING. - A baked potato shack ('Kumpir Corner'). - A french toast and general toastie shack (such as cheese toasties. Also served fries too ('The Deli Toas/Fry Factory' - the same shack). The french toast is lovely. - A fried chicken shack. Also has burgers/hot dogs etc (Garden Grill/Chef's Crispy Chicken' - the same shack). - A pizza oven 'shack' ('The Wood Oven/Pide & Pizza & Bagel Bakery'). Delicious pizzas and warm breads and the men working on this are really nice and friendly. - A fruit shack where you can pick all the fruit you want. Think it's called 'Fruity' but can't remember. - Another fruit shack which also has grilled corn on the cob. I think it's called 'Fit & Wellness'. Not sure if it does fruit smoothies too? I never saw anyone with a fruit smoothie however. I never visited this shack. - A coffee shack. Can't remember what it's called. Again, I never bothered as they have delicious iced coffees at evet bar at the hotel (including pool bar) so thought it was pretty pointless but nice if you are walking past to grab one I suppose! Only ate at the main buffet restaurant twice. The food there was really nice, however I personally can't cope with help-yourself buffets. I prefer to choose from a menu sat at a table. We therefore booked at the BBQ restaurant, Asiana restaurant and the Italian restaurant. The BBQ was out fav it was INCREDIBLE and right by the beach with a sea view. You go and choose any meats/fish you want and then they cook it on the BBQ and bring it to you on a big wooden board and you go and help yourselves to lovely sides including pitta/wraps, breads, butter, salad things, coleslaw, hummus, pickles, sauces etc. It was SO nice and my kids' fav meal. The hotel has it's own patisserie/gelato ice cream just off the hotel lobby. You can choose as many cakes as you want - all free! All so fancy looking and delicious. I used to get about 4 different cakes each night on the way back to the hotel room haha. My kids didn't bother with the kids club, however the girls who worked in the kids club also ran the mini disco each night before the main 'adult' shows at the main stage, and they were genuinely so amazing with all the kids and all had a sweet, welcoming, friendly nature about them and involved all the children. The hotel was lovely and clean. I constantly saw cleaners and maids working hard. The hotel is modern, classy and even smells beautiful. Ill be here all night writing my 'pros' list. There are too many to list. We genuinely had the best holiday EVER and would 100% return. It was even more amazing than we thought it was going to be. CONS: (Just to point out that I am being EXTREMELY picky here with my cons) - 1. Aircon in room slightly noisy but didn't really bother us too much. Aircon was lovely and powerful however, so much so that I used the hotel's dressing gown on a couple of occasions inside the room 😂. 2. On second to last night, the power in our room (including Aircon), kept cutting out. Maintenance man had to come 3 times that night before he finally fixed the issue by changing the box in which you insert your room key card. 3. Before arriving at the hotel, I emailed the hotel asking if it was possible to upgrade the room on arrival to a bigger room and asked how much this would be. I was worried that our room would actually be too small for the 4 of us and, as it was my birthday during our stay, I thought it would be nice to treat myself/us to a larger room. I had heard about people getting upgraded for free for their birthday/special occasion. I noted in my email that it was my birthday during our stay. The hotel emailed back telling me they would do this (subject to availability) free of charge. Upon arriving, they unfortunately hadn't upgraded us and when we asked about this, they said the hotel was full. Even though our room stated it could sleep 4 people, this was impossible. There was one double bed and one single bed. The hotel was very quick to send someone up with an extra single bed that was squeezed next to the other single bed. I felt really frustrated at first and thought the sleeping situation would be a nightmare, however I actually came to quite like our room and all sleeping next to each other and the kids thankfully slept really well each night and nobody woke each other up! 4. The hotel next door (to the left of Concorde if you're looking at Concorde at the front entrance of the hotel) was extremely loud some nights - it sounded like a nightclub until the early hours! Thankfully we all still managed to fall asleep. Not Concorde's fault of course that it's neighbour hotel is noisy. 5. The hotel pool is 1.4 metres deep in all areas with no shallower ends. It would have been nice to have a shallower end for the kids (the pool in the kids club area was too 'babyish' for my boys so something 'inbetween' would have been nice). However, my two boys got lots of swim practice in on the plus side and we kept shoving armbands on our youngest when he started to look tired. It seems most hotels on Lara beach have a main pool depth of 1.4m as standard in all areas. Just something to be aware of and to ensure you research into your pool depths before booking any hotel along Lara beach! It was absolutely fine though. It was something I was worried about before I came but my boys loved the pool and we couldn't get them out of it. Always something going on round the pool entertainment-wise also.
