Let me start with Pros : • Great location : steps away from the beach and accessible to all restaurants ,night life, activities, kayaking tour. • Friendly staff and very approachable front desk. • Walgreens and other stores are right across the street for basic purchases during your stay. • Amazing coffee at the cafe. • The restaurant at the hotel : Ropa Vieja Grill is wonderful with top notch food. A huge list of cons, but I would like to mention it out for any future travelers to really watch out before getting into it. • Outrageous 50$ Resort fees per day for a 3* hotel : 45$ resort fee + 5$ Convenience fee - And what we get ? For few beach chair/towels/2 bottles in room + 2 in beach (if you reach early) /crowded pool + jacuzzi and couple of bikes which we never used. The beach is right in front, but to avail the chairs , you must walk few more steps. And if you have a busy morning with activities and touring , you can't even avail this as the beach amenities stop at 5pm. Is 50$ even work the resort fee for a 3* ? If bfast was included, then this would have made a little sense. • Noise! Noise! Noise! A big issue, even on the 12th floor. You are right on Ashford, in weekends the streets are really busy till 1am, you hear honking, motor bike, partying noises the whole night. If you are a light sleeper, you can never sleep. Front desk was generous to offer some ear plugs. • Only one elevator works, and the noise is something.. you hear this continuous annoying noise the whole day and night making it impossible to sleep. Though the manger offered me a change of room, I didnt have enough time to repack and move. • Huge waiting at the cafe during bfast hours. If you have somewhere to go, it takes forever. There are other bfast options nearby, I would recommend that. • The bed gave me a back pain every morning. So, all in all, it’s a good hotel if you go with the least expectation and are fine to lose your sleep the entire vacation after spending all the money !!!
