This resort is located on its private peninsula, right on the edge of the Ionian Sea and in between the towns of Dassia and Gouvia. Beautiful hotel with great views

The hotel and grounds are immaculate and the hotel is in a lovely setting with great sea views. We stayed for 6 nights in a junior swim up bungalow suite and the room was stunning with the shared (between 4 rooms) infinity pool and a day bed to use. Loved the room and outlook towards the sea. The buffet had a good selection of food and we ate there for dinner on 3 of our 6 nights. Nice views over the sea and main swimming pool. We ate at Yalis seafood restaurant on 2 nights which we also enjoyed. Right on the water with a nice atmosphere and fresh fish on offer. We had red sea bream which was grilled and filleted at the table. For the other dinner we did the Danilia Village experience which involves a 15 minute transfer to a purpose built village where we had typical Corfu food and wine. Nice for a change. The service was generally good with some staff really friendly but some a bit disinterested at times. No big issues. We also had a great spa treatment which wasn't cheap but a nice treat. There is a watersports centre at the hotel with various options which cost extra.

Perfect family holiday

Wonderful - a fantastic place for a family holiday. Probably the most stunning hotel and site that we’ve ever stayed in. The food was excellent, the beaches perfect for the kids and the main pool was nice and warm. What views - doesn’t really get any better. Topped off by lovely staff.

It is so nearly 5* but falls just short based on our recent experience . First the really good points :- - All the reception staff especially Rania who was fantastic and extremely helpful. - The sunbed / towel guys on the family beach - they were excellent and hard working throughout the day - The beach drinks guys who were professional and friendly - The Cleanliness in the public rooms and our bedroom - The Views - The Beach is lovely and kept very clean - Whilst we had 3 minor problems with our room during our stay these were rectified within minutes - fantastic service - The pastries at breakfast - The food and service in the A La Carte restaurant- Aristos - Likewise the food and service in Trattoria the Italian Restaurant - The excellent free courtesy bus to Corfu town Now the not so good Buffet Restaurant - We struggled with the buffet restaurant and didn’t feel it was a 5* star experience ( we have had buffet restaurant experience in other 5* hotels in Cyprus & Rhodes and felt this fell short) - You were shown to a table but nobody pulled the chairs out for the guests to sit down - Often left waiting a fair time to order coffees at breakfast and wine / drinks at dinner - Evening drinks orders seemed to be taken by junior staff rather than wine waiters - Dirty plates were often left on the table even though waiters were walking past empty handed . - The hot food at breakfast and dinner was only lukewarm warm despite being on hot plates - Whilst there was a wide choice of food many hot dishes were basic , Pasta , Spaghetti bolognese , pizza , mousakka etc ( understand they were also catering for children) - Only one “special” carved each night ( previous experiences have been two ) of the 5 nights we ate in the buffet this was veal on 2 nights and lamb on two nights and salt baked salmon on the other ) - Didnt see any sign of the chefs on the various workstations ( again on previous experiences chefs have been ever present ) - The various stations were often empty eg no juice glasses , no yoghurt , no orange juice - needs someone to continually monitor These hotel was very quiet during our stay so we wondered what the above would be like when it is high season These all seem process and training issues which can all be easily rectified Other Areas - As others had said the Pool Sunbeds are ridiculously low for the older generation- no problem with the beach ones - We stayed in a waterside Junior suite , the room was lovely , however whilst the bathroom being an ok size the shower cubicle was tiny and you were in danger of stepping into the toilet when getting out because it was so close

The most fabulous family trip!

The resort is stunning and the staff are unparalleled. The service was absolutely excellent. In particular Orestis and Nick on the beach team for the Homes & Villas beach were outstanding. The beautiful Angeliki in Guest services contacted us to daily to check in with us and organised all our bookings and trips. Nothing was too small or big for her to handle! A huge mention must also go to Harris the tennis coach. While there is no tennis court in Corfu Imperial, the Dassia Bay hotel also by Grecotel has 7 courts nearby. Harris was fantastic for the kids and adults alike! I couldn't recommend the Villa Libro D'Oro more highly.

The hotel grounds are absolutely magical. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. The gym is very good. The staff is very mixed. The senior staff seems to really know what they are doing and are very helpful. The junior staff are clueless. they seem not to know what they are doing at all.at all. The restaurants on the property are more expensive, but are generally good. There are plenty of restaurants in town that are less expensive and are also good.
