Hotel asks for physical credit card and passports as deposit and unhygienic and unsafe for children

Our experience at Desiterra Hotel & Resort was thoroughly disappointing and fell far short of what one would expect from a five-star resort. Upon arrival, the lobby was small, unhygienic, and infested with flies. The restaurant had a cheap appearance and lacked any atmosphere. The villa was dirty, plagued by ants and flies, and completely unsafe for young children due to unsecured staircases. The toilets were poorly maintained and of low quality. The swimming pool was much smaller than depicted in the photos, and the promised “sea view” was barely visible in the distance. The staff was unprofessional and failed to respond adequately to complaints. Parking at the villa was impractical, and the request for passports and physical credit cards as a deposit felt unsafe. I do not recommend this accommodation for families or for travelers seeking genuine luxury and service.

Amazing rooms, quiet and secluded

We had a great stay iate August 2024. The resort was full, but you'd never know. We stayed in a honeymoon villa, which was perfect for us (couple with one child). All very clean and spacious with great views and a short walk to the restaurant. Breakfasts were very good, even though choice was limited. Our main issue (hence the 4 star review) was the price of water! We ended up hiring a car and driving to buy in bulk as it worked out cheaper than buying in the hotel. That aside, we couldn't fault the service or accommodation.

Oasis in the desrt

This was an oasis in the desert! It's only 7kms to Fira but you could have all the calm and chillout time with everything you needed at your fingertips. The team communicated through Whatapps and any request was immediately responded to and dealt with. They offered a great service to drop and collect you into Fira (cheaper than Uber rates). They were super friendly and attentive. The villa was lovely and had everything you'd need for self catering. The bar staff were great and the cocktails fab! Would highly recommend.

Absolute bliss from start to finish

Beautiful place. Very quiet, calm & serene. The staff are just fantastic and can't do enough for you and we even had a lovely chat with the owner who has a villa on the site also. They have golf carts that take you and your cases to the Villa and to the car park (defo need a car to stay here but that was cheap and meant we got to see all of the island). We stayed in the premium villa with our own small infinity pool which was lush. 100% recommend this place and would definitely go back without hesitation.

It was at the end of the summer, when Dimitris and Vivian, were leaving Santorini, after their first vacation together on the island, that a big and bright idea struck his mind; Vivian was the love of his life, he had to marry her. Yes! Vivian said yes and together kept hoping on the same boat to Santorini, again and again, together. Their own paradise, destination: Dreamland! All villas & Suites are fully Autonomous and bio climatic. Minimal design with traditional twists all with "en suite" terrace and pool.
