Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites

Overall we had a fantastic holiday, met some lovely people and appreciated some good service. On arrival we did find the hotel disappointing. The outside isn’t grand, it looks like a block of flats, and the reception area is underwhelming and worn in places. We appreciated the offer of a bite to eat as we arrived so late, but again, the main restaurant area looks like a canteen at night when you can’t see the view, so it wasn’t a great first impression. Our room was advertised as a bungalow with sea view. It was spacious, clean, with ample storage and decent beds - a large double/king, and a double pull-out bed. However the view was actually of a side of a building, with a sliver of a sea view to either side. We asked about changing rooms and were offered a few alternatives, but they weren’t any better. If the room had been advertised as a side sea view our expectation would have been appropriate, but originally we were a bit annoyed. We expected the hotel to be more staggered so most rooms would have a great view, but unfortunately most rooms look out towards the sea, but mainly onto the roof of another building. There was also a broken drawer in the room and the patio doors rattled during the windy nights, so little (but annoying) things that detract from a superior stay. Showers in the room are powerful and temperature consistent, so that’s a big positive. Beds are also comfortable. Our room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels provided and beds made daily. Luckily the holiday perked up and we enjoyed the pools and service. Dennis and Christina work tirelessly in the hot weather to serve at the top pool bar, they are an asset to the hotel. Most staff are excellent - at Thalasa we saw Dyan, John, Silvia and Larisa always polite and smiling, and in the evenings the main bar team are excellent - especially Candee?? But they are all really professional and will help if you ask for anything. The staff definitely improve the hotel’s hospitality ratings. I will say that things to note are the food is very average for an all inclusive. The better nights were when fish was served, but the Mexican night wasn’t great. It would have been improved if they had a build-your-own burrito or fajita bar. The food seemed the same across the restaurants, with just basic plain omlettes in the morning, no option to add veg or cheese like in most places on the day we tried the main restaurant. One other thing to note is all our swimwear turned green. As did other people’s, so don’t wear anything light coloured unless you are happy to chuck it at the end of the holiday! There were races to sun beds during summer holidays, with people reserving them from 7:30, then heading out most of the day. There is room for the hotel to add a few more beds, which would help the situation. As parasols are fixed, you do have to regularly rotate your noisy sunbed in order to stay in shade, and really only one bed can be in the full shade, so if you have multiple children that is something to consider. Overall we all had a good holiday at the Dimitra and the location of the hotel was fine. Fantastic views of the sea from the top pool.

The hotel is absolutely wonderful. We stayed here for the second year in a row. It is quite secluded, but the transport options make it easy to reach the city quickly. The service at the rooftop pool is provided by Dennis and is simply perfect. Dennis is incredibly attentive, kind, and caring. He anticipates every need and keeps the area clean and beautifully organized. Thank you, Dennis, for making our holiday so perfect and relaxing. See you again soon! Our stay at Dimitra Beach Resort on Kos Island left us with the warmest and most delightful memories! It is a truly amazing place that makes you want to return again and again. His professionalism, flawless tact, energetic care, and genuine hospitality turned every breakfast and dinner into a special occasion. Anastas creates an incredibly warm, welcoming atmosphere and is always ready to assist with any request. We also simply cannot miss highlighting the incredible bar team! They are true masters of their craft who prepare fantastic cocktails for every taste. Always positive, quick, and with a great sense of humor, they consistently kept our spirits high whether we were at the beach, by the pool, or enjoying evening drinks. Thanks to team members like these, the hotel truly stands out with its unique character and high standards. The cuisine and drinks are beyond praise: a vast selection of fresh dishes, delicious seafood, exquisite desserts, and an excellent bar menu. In short: if you are looking for the perfect balance of relaxation, high-end service, delicious food, and authentic Greek hospitality, Dimitra Beach Resort is the absolute best choice! We will definitely be back!

Fantastic holiday with the family. Resort is very well looked after and the staff can’t do enough for you. Bus into town a couple of days for a change of scene and well worth it as the town with its cobbled streets is just idyllic. Dennis at the pool bar was exceptional and made our stay here more memorable as did George and his team at the main restaurant. Thank you to everyone.

We had a great time at the Dimitra resort. The food was fine and the rooms were clean. The housekeeper is very friendly. Everyone here does their best to make you feel comfortable. George is the standout in this regard. You see George everywhere and he works very hard. He is friendly and likes a joke. He is busy helping everyone all day long and wants to make everyone's holiday amazing. Thanks to George and his dedication, the resort is worth one more star!
