Divi Southwinds Beach Resort

We stayed at the Divi South Winds complex for 2 weeks in Feb 2026. The unit we stayed in was a little dated but otherwise very clean and comfortable. The staff are excellent, all around. The grounds are kept in excellent condition and the amenities (pools, pickleball courts, mini-golf, etc.) are wonderful. The workout room is a little underwhelming. Dover beach is about 150 m from the building. It is a beautiful beach. The complex is close to a number of restaurants and other attractions. It took about 20 minutes to walk to the local grocery store.

We have just returned from a weeks stay here and we absolutely loved it! We have two children (5) & (2) and they did not want to come home! The grounds are immaculate - you will always find someone cleaning/tidying! There are 3 pools we absolutely loved the one by the beach and spent most of our time there as it was always so quiet! You can spot turtles swimming in the ocean every day and the views are incredible. The beach is so perfect, clean and my children loved crab spotting on the rocks. There are monkeys roaming round the hotel too! There is also mini golf, a play park and other activities for children - which is all included. We had breakfast included which is a buffet situated at the ocean breeze restaurant on the beach - absolutely breathtaking views every morning! The staff there are all so kind, friendly and lovely with the children. The rooms are apartment style with a kitchen - they are dated but have everything you need. The sofa bed had seen better days and could do with an upgrade! The location is brilliant just a few minutes walk to all the restaurants, cafes and bars on The Gap - we especially loved Mimosa’s! We used the “pick up Barbados” app for taxis (just like Uber) which was super handy and reliable to get to where we needed. The only downsides I would say is they do not help with your luggge on arrival or departure or show you to your room which I hadn’t experienced anywhere else before… we also only had our room cleaned once in the week we were there, however they do drop off towels every day. We would definitely return! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Just spent 2 wonderful weeks here with friends. Absolutely great location, facilities and Staff. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The staff are great, attentive and very friendly. The rooms and grounds are kept really well and constantly being cleaned. The pool is great. I have also never been to a resort where getting a sunbed around a pool or on the beach is no problem, always some free. The location is great for local restaurants, though be sure to book to be safe. Michelle Lasanta and Joshua Reed

The Divi Southwinds exceeded my expectations and that is very hard to do. I found the property to be exceptional in terms of friendly and helpful staff, meticulous grounds and pool keeping and amenities. The location of the Divi is perfect being right in the heart of St. Lawrence Gap and close to many bars and fabulous restaurants. The beach is very well kept and we never had to scramble for a prime spot or loungers no matter what time of day. The bar staff at Pureocean were attentive, polite and efficient. All of the staff went out of their way to make our stay more comfortable. The rooms are great. I read other reviews saying the rooms are "tired". I would say barely. They are well equipped with everything you need in a small kitchen and the bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom was perfect with rain shower and the entire unit was spotlessly clean upon arrival. We enjoyed fresh towels each day. The value for money at the Divi Southwinds was the thing I noted the most. When all factors are combined, this property hits a homerun. I can't wait to return. Special mention to Junior at the beach who is a gentleman who is happy to set up your loungers and umbrella for you anywhere you choose. The only hitch was an ignorant loud mouth American who yelled at Junior in front of all the guests about not getting the service he expected. This moron should note how many British and Canadian tourists there are in Barbados and keep his mouth shut. Another embarrassing representative of the U.S.
