Pools need urgent attention

Currently here and will update this review further. Second full day and I must say I'm extremely disappointed, the hotel has the potential to be everything I expected from the reviews and photos but I have one major issue that we have raised and needs addressing now. The pools are disgusting. I don't expect a 5 start hotel to have dirty pools. The main lagoon pool has a layer of scum on the water surface and the water edge has a green tide mark the whole way round. Areas of the walls and floor have slime on the surface. The water is murkey so much so that you can't see the kids sinking toys at the bottom despite it being only 1.40m deep. The waterfall has green slime all up the walls. For me the pool area is a key feature and where we spend the majority of our time. The perfered club pool is a bit better with the water at least being clear but still has a green tide mark which is evident at the other pools. Issue raised and wait to see if resolved.

Great Experience at Hyatt Hotel Corfu

I found the hotel staff to be very polite, professional and would make you feel very welcome when we arrived. The hotel itself overall is great and the overall services provided were very good. The location of the hotel is a little further away from the busy town of Corfu Town but you can jump on a bus to town which doesn't take long to get there or by boat (one takes you there from the beach). The beach area is very quiet and perfect for older couples that just want to relax. For those families that like a bit of music and vibe by the beach then this isn't the place for you. The inflatables in the sea was fun though some concerns with checking them throughout the day. Found blood all over the slides and had to report it. There are options for water sports but they can be expensive. The gym was open early doors, had everything you needed to get a good workout, just needed a few attachments to the one cable machine, would have been nice to add a couple of more benches as there was only one available. The entertainment from the staff and external entertainment were very good. The pools were very clean especially the infinity pool but they can get very crowded and you get the usual British family laying down towels and bags on sun loungers 2 hours before they actually used them. There were plenty of loungers to be fair so it wasn't a major problem. Towels were provided by the pools but should be exchanged every other day which is fair. The restaurants overall where great, the buffet one became a little repetitive with the food choices but there was plenty of choices if you looked. The catering staff and waiters and waitresses were all very helpful. Trying to book an a la carte restaurant on the app was impossible. My only concern is security or recognising who were guests of the hotel, there were no wrist bands given or nothing to identify yourself as a guest. They have a security team at the entrance but we walked past and said we were guests but the would not have known, this is my only gripe, anyone from out of town could have come in. I would definitely come back to Corfu and this Hotel as we did have a lovely time with my wife and 2 boys aged 11 and 8, they loved it.

Wonderful hotel in lovely Gouvia bay

We stayed at the Hyatt Ziva in Corfu in August, it’s a very nice hotel in a lovely setting in Gouvia bay with a beach. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the preferred club area of the hotel, it was an upgrade that we felt was very worthwhile, we had our own pools, waiter service at the pool for the bar, a seperate club lounge with seating, food and drinks all day long and extra privileges. We would definitely try to pay for this again if we could. The pools are vast and with plenty of sun loungers there was never a problem getting one which was great considering it was August. The buffet restaurant food was really good, plenty of choice and excellent quality food. It was busy at peak times but staff were on hand to find you a table and served the drinks to you. We also ate at some of the many à la carte restaurants, great to have these to mix things up and they were open at lunchtimes and dinner and all included as part of all inclusive. The hotel is situated in Gouvia a small village with shops and bars etc, it’s also a bay and the hotel has a lovely private beach within the bay. There was always staff at the beach serving drinks to your loungers too. Our room was a preferred club room and we were given a room on the top floor. It was spacious and of high quality, very clean and a great balcony with a sea view which we upgraded to. We took one of the boat trips from the beach area, went to caves and a lovely Greek village with a beach, very reasonably priced trip too. Would recommend this. We enjoyed the hotel entertainment each night a mix of the staff and external bands etc. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would recommend this hotel to couples and families, it is everything you would expect from a 5* hotel and considering it was August in peak season it didn’t feel crowded as it’s big with plenty of eating options.

Finished our Greek vacation in Corfu. The Hyatt has great potential with current caveats

I wrote a lengthy review yesterday that never posted, so I will do my best to condense my review as follows. Positive notes regarding this property. All staff (some more than others, but generally) were extremely helpful and cheerful throughout our 3 day stay. Food was excellent in all venues. Even the buffet’s offerings were tasty and substantial. The bars and public areas were clean and cheery. Cautions: The room we stayed in described as “Inland facing” was a vast disappointment. For a resort property, these rooms are more Red Roof Inn or Motel 6 to be perfectly honest. The rooms and buildings in the Hyatt’s pictures are the upscale, upgraded units facing the sea. That is where you should stay unless the prices for them are unreasonable, This is a family oriented property and that is fine considering we just finished a 2 week trip to Athens and the islands with our kids and grandkids. That said, if you are a couple looking to get away, this is not your property of choice. Bottom line: Hyatt took this property over in recent months 2026. They have the opportunity to make this a world class, family oriented property if they choose to. Judging by the limited number of seats at their dining venues for dinner, the property seems to be operating on a bare bones staffing level. I would not otherwise mind, but this is an All-inclusive offering property. I would like options (and to be fair, we were accommodated) for dining and not feel as if I/we were being directed to the buffets. Again….a really nice property with terrific potential and caveats I have described.

Lovely family holiday

We recently returned from an 11 night fabulous holiday . As soon as we arrived we was greeted with all our auitcases being taken for us and met with cool towels and a welcome drink. We stayed preffered club so got led straight round to the reception area where we downloades the hotel app and got all the hotel details explained to us. All staff work so hard and tirelessly ! Anything they can do to help you out, they will do. We enjoyed the buffet, and also got booked in at all of the a la carte resturaunts too. There is a wide variety of food and my 2 girls loved the kids corner in the buffet. The entertainment team and kids club where amazing ! My girls (8 and 4 ) had a fab time and all the staff were amazing taking care of them and we were so sad when we had to say goodbye! The location is great - takes a little while to find your feet and explore the areas. But once we done so, we enjoyed using all the different pools ( great choice and if you are prefferred club you also get us of this pool ,which is quieter and was probably are favourite) and spending a bit of time on the beach where you can also use the inflatable, which we did once. Evening entertianment had a great line up and variety, which we all enjoyed and the choice of all inclusive drinks was great, with severap lovely cocktails. Also in between meals there was always snacks and ice cream abailable. We explored corfu town which was an easy bus ride- about 25/30 min And the port was also about 15 mins away which is where we did a boat trip to Paxos and we also got the ferry over one day to Albania. We had a lovely family seaview room which was spacious, a great big balcony with amazing views. The mini bar got restocked every day and the cleaners kept it lovely and spotless. Our holiday was great and would definately recommend, we would love to return Thank you
