Disappointing

31 Mar 2026
My wife and I spent two weeks at this resort. The room was very nice and the staff very, very good. Having said that there were lots of things wrong. The food was repetitive and in the non buffet restaurants really quite poor. The Italian and cullinarium were particularly bad. There is no large lagoon pool, only small ones with swim up bars full of noisy uncouth people shouting at each other. There is no lobby bar, only small bars scattered around the resort. The worst thing is that there is insufficient comfortable seating at any of them. On evenings with entertainment they put folding seats out in rows with no tables, laid out like a school assembly. There is no way we would return or recommend it to anyone.

Not a 5* Resort

31 Mar 2026
We have just returned from a TUI BLUE holiday at Eldorado Palms in Mexico, we have been to several in the past and this was the worst overall that we have been to. Particularily the Food, Entertainment and Bars Positives The hotel grounds and gardens are well kept and well looked after by the ground staff. Rooms are kept very clean and if maintenance is required it comes very quickly and issues are sorted out. Staff are very pleasant and efficient and are without doubt the best part of the hotel. Wine was in general good for this type of hotel. Breakfast omelettes in Aricife were good and the only thing that was hot. Fried and poached eggs by the same chef were also good. Negatives As plenty of people mentioned the rooms and hotel generally are dated Issues around sunbeams, if you want a bed near the main pool you need to be there at or before 6am. The pool is only small and there are not many beds. Sunbeams on the beach are terrible, old plastic ones that sage and give no support, these don’t go as early as around the pool but if you want a Bali Bed its again an early start. Nothing is done by the Hotel to restrict bed hogging reservations. Food - generally poor to average. Same meals every day except when the Mexican night is on. Food is not kept hot in the self serve restaurants very limited variety and sometimes no fruit at Dinner - same goes for cheeses. There is one toaster in the Aricife which takes at least 4 passes to toast a piece of bread, always people waking to get access. There were days when the Burger Bar ran out of French fries and the bar we were at ran out of Gin Entertainment was almost no existent. There were plenty of bars but not enough seating for the numbers of customers on an evening especially. Some of the bars has wooden swings as seating, not really an adult only experience. The subbed areas attached to premium accommodation hardly got any sun during the day as the Jungle vegetation was so lush that most areas were in shade most of the time This was not a 5* 5T experience (and we were in the Premium section), we have been in far better 4T hotels with TUI. This hotel overall based on our experience would be lucky to hit 4*. We knew that the transport to the hotel from the airport could take 11/2 hours so we decided to arrange a personal transport through TUI. On arriving at the pickup point at the airport we were tole that our transport would be there in 10 mins, were kept being told this for 50 minutes. Finally the TUI rep came clean and told me that there was no car for us but that they could get one in about 50 minutes, this eating around was after a 10 hour flight. Eventually the rep told me that we should get a taxi and claim it back by the TUI rep ate the resort. The taxi ride to the Hotel was almost £190. Even though we were refunded the cost and the money we had already paid for the Transport this was not a good start to the holiday

A good visit but not great

31 Mar 2026
This was our 4th visit to the resort we had an overall good experience this time it has become more busy over the last few years issues we have experienced this time having arrived on a Monday we found it impossible to to obtain reservations for the restaurants on the first week and were told by our concierge this was due to the 100% occupancy rate that week after some discussion we managed to obtain a 09:30 slot at the Italian later in the week however we went to the restaurant early and were accommodating. We were told bookings opened on a Friday each week so when we went on the Friday to book the following week we were informed it had opened on a Thursday and again there was limited availability. In all the resorts we have visited the sunbed situation here around the pool was mad having a touch of jet lag we were awake at 06:00 for the first few days and were surprised to see beds taken before this basically if you are not up and around by half 6 then all beds were taken we were also surprised to see some beds reserved with towels and left empty most of the day there is no management of this really there should be a procedure to removed towels after a reasonable period of time . That’s the bad bits out of the way sunbeds on the beach were available most of the time the grounds and outside areas are excellent and kept in great condition . The restaurants and food again was excellent special mention the the cullinarium the Asian at a cost of 50 US for tui visitors but worth it and the Italian the manager in the Italian was excellent and managed to get us all on a number of occasions early special shout out to the entertainment team Jose Jesus and Erik in the cullinarium . The standard of rooms was good and kept spotless by our attendant Christian the second week seemed much more relaxed and were told the occupancy had significantly reduced it seems the resort struggled slightly when its full . Overall I would recommend this resort with a few minor tweaks it could easily get back to its exceptional standard we have experienced in the past

Poor food

31 Mar 2026
If you fancy a holiday of good food and nice places to relax look elsewhere, the food in my opinion is poor quality and regularly served cold with a complicated restaurant system .no where to relax comfortably on a evening to enjoy a quiet drink. Don't waste money on upgrade to premium as its an unpoliced free for all with drinks and premium pools ,I would not rate this resort anymore than 3 star

Another wonderful visit to El Dorado Seaside Palms Resort

31 Mar 2026
Our stay at El Dorado Seaside Palms from March 13–27 was, once again, nothing short of exceptional—and truly felt like coming home. As long-time members of Exotic Travelers since 2009, having started at the Sapphire level and proudly grown into Diamond Elite status, we’ve had the privilege of experiencing this resort many times over the years. Yet somehow, each visit manages to feel just as special—if not more so—than the last. This trip, we stayed in Room 3405, a beautiful villa with a private pool, and it set the stage for two unforgettable weeks of relaxation and connection. But what truly makes this place stand apart is the people. A heartfelt and sincere thank you to our butlers—Arturo, Azeal, and Julian. Simply put, they are like family to us. Their care, attention, and generosity go far beyond expectations, and they remain the single biggest reason we continue to return year after year. They don’t just do their jobs—they genuinely look after their members, and it shows in every interaction. We’d also like to recognize Maribel and the entire housekeeping team who maintained our room so beautifully each day. Their consistency and pride in their work never go unnoticed. Dining, as always, was a highlight. We were fortunate to be looked after by so many outstanding individuals: Carlos and Sergio at Mia Casa, Erick at the Gourmet Pub, Julian at Culinarium, Felipe at Kay Talay, and Jose, who made our anniversary dinner—an incredible Surf & Turf experience—truly memorable. And a very special mention to Gerado at La Caretta, a genuinely warm and unforgettable person who left a lasting impression. No trip would be complete without time spent at the Naay Spa. A big thank you to Adriana, Cristina, and Aurora for consistently delivering the relaxation and care we look forward to every visit. They are professionals in every sense and always make our time there feel restorative. We’d also like to recognize Braulio, who greeted us daily with fresh coconuts and a warm smile—a simple gesture that added so much to our days. A wonderful man. And finally, to the hardworking teams keeping the beaches clean of sargassum—you are the real heroes. The effort, day in and day out, does not go unnoticed, and it makes a meaningful difference to every guest’s experience. We only hope more people take the time to appreciate what you do. El Dorado Seaside Palms is more than just a resort to us—it’s our home away from home. The people, the service, and the spirit of this place keep calling us back. Viva la México. Muchas gracias, from the bottom of our hearts.
