This hotel has been very cleverly marketed to give the impression of a high class "elite" hotel. We booked this trip with friends who had never been to Turkey before, hoping to show them what a lovely region it is. We paid a little more than we wanted to as the photographs and description made this stand out as something special. WOW - How wrong were we? The choice of food was very limited and the hot dishes were at best lukewarm. The restaurant manager was telling people to put food (including chicken and rice) in to the microwave if they were not happy. Three out of the four of us got sickness and diarrhoea withing hours of our first meal. The real eye opener was towards the end of our stay when we decided to risk a fresh pizza from the snack bar. The "chef" came over after finishing his cigarette, did not was his hands and proceeded to prepare our snack. The food preparation area was swarming with flies, but rather than clean the area, he shook flour over it (and the flies) and carried on rolling the doh, as if it was perfectly acceptable. At one point he even picked a fly out of the pizza base and flicked it away. At this point I gestured and asked the chef to stop. He was oblivious and just continued. I went straight to the guest relations lady in reception to let her know that this was unacceptable, but she seemed unshocked. Other, less worrying aspects of the contrast between advertised and reality included wines, beers and cocktails being served in cardboard coffee cups, the indoor bar and a la carte restaurant being completely closed and a general look of tiredness to the hotel rooms and bathroom.
