Upon arriving at Evita Bay after a long day of travelling, we went to check in and was advised by the manager Nicholas that there were 7 rooms that were faulty and one of those being ours and we had to stay in another hotel for two nights, we had previously read other reviews and immediately knew this was not true and they simply had overbooked (it’s shame he had to lie!) after raising our concerns and explaining we were not happy, he said that we could still use the facilities of Evita Bay, during the day such as restaurants and pool etc, but two nights would need to be spent in the Evita Elite resort. He also offered as a good will gesture to pay for the taxis to and from the two hotels for the two days, a week of the beach sunbeds that you have to pay for he would cover or a one day car hire rental. After being too tired to fight anymore we gave up and accepted to move. We were moved to evita Elite and this hotel is AWFUL..check their reviews! Rooms were dirty, broken lights, not enough seating in bar area or around the pool and food was inedible, so just prepare for this! Also we were bitten by bed bugs, so we literally just slept there! After day two of our ten day break we moved back into Evita Bay (thank god!) the rooms were spacious, plenty of pool areas, but you must get towels down there early to secure a sun bed, the restaurant at breakfast and lunch was good variety and nice food, the lunch Gyros station was our fave. For some reason though the dinner selection was not great, so we did eat out for dinner quite a few times, the Greek taverna right next to the hotel is amazing and cheap, would definitely recommend trying that! Or walk into town took 5/10 mins and some lovely restaurants there that were reasonable and delicious! Bliss restaurant is 10/10! The all inclusive drinks were cheap versions of alcohol and very watered down, even the fruit juice tasted cheap! The rooms were changed every couple of days with fresh towels, and sheets sometimes, but general cleaning of the room is not done, no sweeping/mopping or cleaning of toilet/showers which is not good as there was sand from the beach on the floor the whole time, there is a small fridge which is good for keeping drinks or snacks cool that you buy. Beds were comfy and air con worked though which is a plus. DO NOT hire a hire from Efrem in hotel reception, they tried to tell us we had damaged the car when we had not as we had checked before returning it, when I asked for proof of the damage with the reg plate in and CCTV footage of us driving back to hotel showing the damage they backed down and never heard from them again, definitely stand your ground with this hotel if they query anything. The lady in reception is quite rude and has no manners, Nicholas tried his best with us and we appreciated that, but we heard from other guests who were younger and didn’t stand up for themselves that he was rude and unhelpful to them. NOW the positives…LEO the entertainer there absolutely made our holiday, he was so full of energy and positivity, getting everyone involved even when the moody older guests didn’t want to participate, he works so hard and is a real credit to the hotel, without him it would have been hard to find anything very good about this hotel. He deserves more recognition! Thank you Leo! There was some evening entertainment, but we would recommend using the Evita resort hotel for their much better entertainment programme, Thursday fire show was amazing! Leo will help you with everything that is going on, and he really tries his best with this hotel with what he is given, The other waiters, cleaners etc all work very hard and were polite when we spoke to them too. Overall the hotel wasn’t horrendous, but definitely has some points that could help it. Naya beach Club, 5 mins walk is a gorgeous place to spend the day, Waterpark was also a really good day out, and make sure you get to Lindos beach and town and Old Town and they were also great!
