Fergus Style Cala Blanca Suites

No better than a 3 star and some areas only 2 star. Rooms basic. Sunbeds have signage saying no reservations on sunbeds. This is a total joke. Towels on beds from night before and if you don't tie your umbrella to your sunbed then it's a goner when you turn your back. This is totally down to lack of supervision. My observation is that there is a ratio of one umbrella to 10 sunbeds. If you don't mind half empty drink glasses lying around from the night before and sticky dirty tables then it's acceptable. My own view is it's falls short on many basic expectations.oh and don't expect to get a seat at entertainment area.

Rooms Our suite was great - replete with a large bathroom, luggage storage area, living room, bedroom and balcony looking down towards the sea. The room was very clean when we got there and kept clean every day by the friendly staff. Only problem was the air con which was pretty weak and barely brought the room temp down to a toasty 25 degrees, but we talked with other guests and this wasn't a problem for them so perhaps it was just our room that had this issue (room 208, for reference). Nearby activitiesThere's a SUPTOGO paddle rental at the bottom of the pool area where you can rent paddle boards by the hour using your phone. Nice bay too where you can go swimming and spot lots of fishes. A short 20 minute walk will take you back to the main beach at Santa Ponsa, which was a really nice area with lots of shops and cafes. Safety We felt very safe throughout our stay and didn't encounter any concerns at all. Had to keep a close eye on our 2 year old as he jogged along next to the pool, but that's as expected. The very friendly pool lifeguard Nicholas even helped us with this task a lot of the time, thank you! Food and drinks The food there was honestly really good considering it was a buffet. Breakfast staples included cereals, pastries, fruit, fried English, meats / cheese etc. For lunch, there was always a fresh paella out, plus soups, grilled fish, various chicken dishes, full salad bar, cakes, etc. For dinner each night had a different theme that defined all the dishes - such as Moroccan, Indian, Spanish, Italian, etc. Again, everything tasted very fresh and delicious - we all loved the variety on offer and really looked forward to every meal time. A huge thank you also to Andres, Lolo and all the amazing staff in the restaurant who work tirelessly to welcome you, clean and prep tables and were always smiling and so kind to our son (despite the huge mess he made under his high chair every visit- sorry!) The drinks were really good too - the only thing we found was excluded were the fancier cocktails plus specialist spirits. So I mean you can ask for whiskey no problem, but if you want something specific like Jack Daniels it might not be included. Although it always helps to tip the barmen in this regard - and Andres and Juan work so hard from 5pm to midnight every day so please just tip them anyway! Noteworthy details For us, the staff really stood out as the crown jewel of this lovely hotel. Everyone we met was just so friendly and kind throughout our 10 day visit, we'd love to go back again in the near future to see them all again. The hotel manager also we'd like to thank personally as she really went out of her way to make us feel welcome, and she was lovely with our 2 year old son who really took to her during our stay :)

Just back from a fabulous week at Fergus Style Cala Blanca. We read some mixed reviews before we left but had no issues when we were there. Our holiday began with a lovely welcome from reception and although we were too early to check in we were given our all inclusive bands and had a nice drink by the pool and lunch and by that time our room was ready. Food - my son has allergies and from our first visit to the restaurant the staff were all helpful and put us at ease showing us round and letting us know what he could safely eat and what to avoid. The staff in the restaurant worked so hard and were so welcoming, especially Andres and the chefs who were kind and helpful with any questions we had. The food was delicious with a good variety each day and over the week. The Bar - poolside and indoor bars were great with friendly people working there. Cleaning staff - did a great job keeping our room and hotel clean and always a cheerful hola when we passed! Something we made use of in the last few days were the activities arranged by the animation team- great fun and we wish we’d discovered them sooner. The team made sure everyone was having a good time, adults, teens and children alike. Although we didn’t use the kids club the younger children seemed to really love the team and the team worked hard and seemed to know the kids by name and tried to involve them and make them feel special at the evening entertainment too. The pool - good size for those who are not strong swimmers. Good temperature (although it was very hot and in the 30s for our whole holiday). Yes, you do have to get up early as everyone reserves a Sun loungers, but always managed to get one and liked the shady undercover area was an option for those who don’t want to be in the sun all day. The hotel itself was obviously not brand new but nice and clean and good air conditioning which was very much needed during our break. We honestly couldn’t fault this hotel, loved it and we plan to visit again sometime.

Great family holiday close to the beach and resort centre. Food is good, always something to choose. Beds really comfy with spacious rooms. Loved having the cove beach so close for snorkeling! Would definitely return for the great price we got.
