Not a 4 star hotel - avoid!

31 Jul 2025
Not a 4-star hotel – avoid. This was a thoroughly disappointing experience. On arrival, I was told that the safety deposit box was not in the room, but instead had to be rented daily from reception – located in a separate building some distance away. Inconvenient and unacceptable for storing valuables securely. Passports were demanded at check-in and only returned later after being “entered into the system”. When I asked for a receipt, I was told they could check the CCTV if anything went wrong. Not reassuring. The evening entertainment was uninviting, situated next to an open sewage pipe – the stench was unbearable. I didn’t stay to find out more. Food quality was poor and repetitive – more like school dinners than anything remotely 4-star. Spaghetti seemed to be on offer every day. Toiletries were only provided on the first night. When I asked for more shower gel, I was refused and directed to an overpriced mini-market across the road. Basic hospitality was lacking throughout. Sunbeds were “reserved” with towels as early as 6:30am despite prominent signs against this. Pool opens at 10am, but staff did nothing to enforce their own policy. Unless you’re prepared to rise before dawn, don’t expect to get a sun lounger. The self-service beer pump in the main restaurant barely worked – just foam and frustration. One of the two water machines was also out of order, so queues were inevitable. Some restaurant staff were outright rude – one woman in black uniform repeatedly pushed in front of guests at the buffet. Once is forgivable, but this was daily. My room was not properly cleaned, very dated, and poorly maintained. The sofa bed hadn’t been put back from the previous guests, the chair was broken, curtains were worn out, and the sheets didn’t cover the bed fully – meaning you were directly on the mattress. The ‘clean my room’ sign wouldn’t stay on the handle properly, which may explain the lack of service. Towels were not changed once during my 6-night stay. There were glasses in the room but no tea, coffee, or even water. No kettle. No nearby fountains. The only sources were the restaurant or pool bar, which closed at 6pm – not helpful when staying ‘all inclusive’. Only one key was provided per room – two should be standard. The second bar was closed for the duration of the stay, leaving the pool and lobby bar with just one staff member each and long queues all day. Cicadas were extremely loud and constant – not the hotel’s fault, but worth noting. Worse, they drop urine on you if you sit under trees. Tourist tax was an eye-watering €10 per room per night – excessive. Sunbeds were metal-framed and uncomfortable, and there were very few umbrellas for shade. Those that did exist were fixed and couldn’t be adjusted. The poolside toilets were filthy. One urinal and one toilet for all male guests, and never cleaned during the day – floors were soaked in urine. The pool itself was dirty, with cloudy water and green grime around the edges. Cats were everywhere, including around the restaurant. Flies were frequently seen on uncovered food. I came for my birthday – no acknowledgement whatsoever. No message, no token gesture – nothing. Most hotels make the effort. This one didn’t. The only positive was the sunshine and a friendly female lifeguard (tall, with long brown hair) who was personable and engaging. Sadly, this was a poor first impression of Greece and its islands. I’ll think twice before returning.

I don't usually write reviews on places I go to, just because I feel everybody's expectations may differ, but thought I should write one for this hotel after my stay. I was travelling with my partner and 2 kids, aged 13 and 15. Landing at Rhodes Airport was a bit of a farce and had long ques, this was annoying as it was a late landing flight and we just wanted to get to our hotel and settled. After passing security we got outside and now was time to find a taxi, we chose not to use the transfer bus as we normally find it quicker to grab a taxi. To be honest this was really easy, taxi rank just outside the airport exit door and plenty of taxis on offer, took us about 2 mins to get into one. Taxi journey was about 10-15 mins and cost us €19 which I thought was a fair price. Check in Upon arrival at the hotel there was no food open, we arrived around 10.45pm and the restaurant closed at 9pm, luckily we brought some snacks. Check in was fine apart from the €10 euro/day tourist tax, we thought this was high and was told it would only be €7/day. The receptionist ( John or Michael ) who checked us in took our passports and suggested we go get a drink from the only all inclusive bar that was open, so we headed over while he processed our details. I wish I never now, we were greeted by a very angry barman, if you go to this hotel you will know who I'm on about, a small dark haired Greek who has severe customer service issues. There was a queue of around 15 guests and while we waited in the queue he was shouting at the quests at the front, telling them to have their order ready and to stop wasting time. In my opinion this guy should not work with the public, I had many encounters with him during my stay and none of them positive, he just seemed to hate his job and dislike foreigners. He only seemed to crack a smile if girls were being served, anyway, we got to the front of the queue and asked for water, he gave me a small plastic cup with ice in it and told me to go to a water dispenser, these are dotted around the hotel, far and few between and dispense warm water, same temperature as the air 🤮. We then went upto our room and to be honest we were happy with the size of the room, room 211, with a massive balcony, we began unpacking and the heat was raging so went to turn on the A/C, couldn't get this to work so had to go and get John from reception, he came upand after getting his life story he couldn't get it to work, suggested we leave the balcony doors open and gave us mosquito spray 😫🔥, we tried this but it was still roasting so I started googling the A/C unit and found the remote control had been reset, so I reprogrammed it and it worked... for a bit. Next morning at 9am it was just broken, went to reception and told them, they sent a maintenance man up and he looked at it and scratched his head for a while and said he would be back in 10 mins, half past 4 and still hadn't heard from them so went to reception and told them, very grumpy lady told me yes yes we know, I said well what's happening it roasting, it was 35oC.. we went out and came back in about 5.30, when we went back in it was working and worked for the rest of our stay. The food at the main restaurant was ok at best for adults and non existent for kids, when I say ok I mean just ok and barely found something to eat each day, I lived of salad and oranges and the puddings were always some jelly or custard cakes and were disgusting and repetitive. 8m sure they use the left overs from breakfast to mix into lunch dishes, and the left overs from lunch to mix into some dinner dishes. Staff in the restaurant were doing their best to keep up but always lack of dishes and glasses to drink and eat from, I found myself standing waiting for plates most of the time and glasses for a drink, when these came out they were roasting after just been in a dish washer, so no chance of getting a cold drink from the limited drinks at the machine. Back to the staff, the restaurant staff did do their best and tried to smile but were constantly being overlooked by the restaurant manager, any time staff tried to engage with guests the manager would start shouting at them in front of all the guests, this was really uncomfortable and totally unprofessional, he should have kept this for staff meetings, I like to engage with staff and learn a bit about the area but on multiple occasions when I tried he would come storming over and start shouting at them and telling them to get on with work. One member of staff in particular who tried to give us information was really nice guy from Croatia, his name is Bruno. It seemed that he was there every minute of the day, cleaning the restaurant outside sitting area in the morning, working in tye restaurant all through the day and then having to spend the evening working in the main bar with tye grumpy old barman, at least he served with a smile and interacted with us when he could, but you could tell he was nervous and ready to be shouted at, so big thanks to Bruno and all restaurant staff, seriously over worked and under staffed. Food at the snack bar at the top of the complex was bad, fish nuggets that were like small stones, chips and fly infested salad.. they did do Pizza every day but even this was a joke, we were down at the restaurant pool most days and it's a 5 min walk up to the top pool and 5 min back in 35 degrees ☀️, so I done this most days days to get my kids some pizza... but you are only allowed 2 small slices per person, they are really strict on this and I was refused many times and told them its for my kids down at the other pool, she said we'll they need to come up and get it themselves 🤔🤔. I ended up getting 2 slices, putting it on a table and joining the mile long queue again to get 2 more and again to get 2 more, by this time it took about 30 mins to get a few slices of pizza, I couldn't even get a drink in between because the drinks queue was even longer up at the top pool. The waterpark, we only went here 2 days, mainly because its so far away from where we need to go to get drinks, no facilities over there at all and again have to walk all the way up to the snack bar at the top pool where we could only get 2 drinks per person, a family of 4 and we all need to treck up if we want a drink. This was one of the biggest downsides for me, how limited we were with snacks and drinks and I couldn't go and get us all a drink or a snack easily. So to summarise... Hotel was ok but needs attention. Food, terrible and no restaurants outside the complex so stuck in here Staff mixed, Restaurant manager and old bar man shouldn't work with guests but the rest were good and done the best under stressful conditions. No way is this a 4* hotel, I would honestly say 3 at best but has potential to be 4* with a bit of investment in staff and food.

The hotek itself is nice but it definitely needs improvements. The food variation is very poor 11 options mostly all the same every dinner time. Drinks menu is awful only 3 cocktails which aren’t enjoyable at all and you have to pay for most drinks and cocktails. The entertainment is next to sewage so it’s awful to sit and watch. The cut your wristband off at 11am so you can’t use anything all day so you lose a day off all inclusive especially if your flight is late like us at 11pm. Overall wouldn’t recommend for an all inclusive

Not a 4* hotel

30 Jun 2025
Ill give a honest review the hotel and grounds a lovely in most parts. The amphitheatre has a awful smell round it like seweage. The food is repetitive they change the meat and deserts it's ok for what it is. The beer in the all inclusive bar is foam and served in a paper cup in the snack bar and small glasses with limited options for pop for the kids no juice. The snack bar has limited choice chicken nuggets i wouldn't feed the 500 cats that roam the hotel. This hotel doesn't cater for the british public i felt out of place as did my wife and kids. I pad for 7 nights stay we didnt arrive till 12.30 am so lost a day's worth of food i was told if I was thirsty there's some fresh water dispensers around the hotel as the all inclusive bar finishes at 11pm. Al a carte bar is just expensive cocktails that are ours alcohol although the barmaid is lovely. The entertainment staff are great especially the lifeguard she was lovely with my son when he was upset cause he was getting splashed of older kids. The water park opens at 11am and closes at 4pm sun beds are gone by 11:02 in the water park once it's closed there only 1 pool that is shallow enough for younger kids who cant swim in the really deep pools but at around 4:15 they play water polo with all the aggressive eastern Europeans so the kids have no option but to sit and watch them fight over a ball for 45 mins. The mini market on site is expensive but not much choice unless your willing to walk 25 mins to the super market the beach is 20 mins walk but I wouldn't waste the steps it's awful I wouldn't come back to this hotel I felt out of place and looked down upon by other guests for being English was ready to come home after the third day also the pools are murky and need a proper clean. And dont expect food after checking out they remove your wristbands so stocknup on snacks.

Average stay. Nice hotel but definitely needs some TLC. Wouldn't stay again

30 Jun 2025
Average stay. Stayed in room 206 looked nothing like any pictures I saw, very out dated and needed a freshen up which was a shame as the balcony overlooked pool and sea, and the Turkish mountains. Main pool could of done with a clean, the water looked green/murky. Stayed at the front pool most days which was a lot cleaner but no bar open throughout day so had to walk right up to the main pool everytime for a beer, which was half froth half beer every time. Only 3 cocktails on menu which were like rocket fuel but not in a nice enjoyable way. Food was OK you get what you pay for, we ended up eating out most of the time, a good 15 minute walk away from the main town of Ialysos so id recommend decent shoes. Hotel didn't really cater for English think we noticed about 3 other couples/ families that were English throughout our stay. Another bug bear was that when we checked out at 11am on day of leaving they cut our wristbands so had no use of the all inclusive even though we weren't flying till 9pm at night, even more so annoying we didn't arrive until late on our first day, so kind of feel we were robbed of 2 days. Other than that the hotel is nice, staff were lovely and its well kept. Just needs some more TLC.
