Galaxy Beach Resort, BW Premier Collection

Reading some negative reviews before arriving, a few mentioned the sunbeds around the pool. Been here 3 days and never had an issue yet. Came down this morning 10 30 got 2 straight away no problem, even if you can’t get one at first there is lots of tables and chairs with parasols on the grassed area right next to the pool. The atmosphere is extremely chilled and relaxing. Bar snacks are good, and the drinks service at the bar is really quick, haven’t had to queue yet. Rooms, hotel spotlessly clean.

Service was awfull we turned up to our rooms not being booked . When we finally got into our room it was disgusting . Then when we come to leave they charged 600 euro for one broken tile would never come back here again awful place and even worse service

We are currently staying at the Galaxy Beach Resort as a family of four, with a baby and a young child. We are having a fabulous time. We highly recommend this hotel for a perfect family vacation. It is designed to accommodate everyone, from babies to young kids, teenagers or young adults, or simply only adults, and is offering a great atmosphere where everyone is fitting just right. It has gorgeous and clean rooms, ultra friendly staff, always offering to help, takes good care of you if you have any issue, great source of advices should you have any problem. The food at the restaurant is simply the best. A very large variety of meat and vegetarian food, amazing kids menu, and plenty of choices to pick from and prepare even for your baby meal. The garden surrounding the property is a green large paradise, with so many relaxation areas, and wonderful musical evening programs. The pools, one for small kids and one large, are so clean and so well maintained. The beach in front of the hotel is very smooth and the water is absolutely amazing. Make sure you book a family suite in advance when you book your trip here. It is so worth it. They are very comfortable and offer great space for your children too. This is our second stay here, and is our favourite place in Zakynthos. We are definitely coming back again. Don’t hesitate, just book and come! Thank you dear Galaxy Team! Starting with the positives, the hotel was clean and tidy throughout, our room was cleaned daily to a high standard and our towels were replaced regularly. The location is brilliant, it is on the beach front and a 5 minute walk to the main strip where there is many restaurant and bars. On the most part, the staff are very helpful and always on hand to assist with any needs, unfortunately the same can’t be said for the manager and a small selection of the staff. To put it simply, the pool situation is a JOKE. The infrastructure of the hotel CANNOT accommodate for the large volume of guests they have at one time. There is only 1 adult pool for the guests to relax around with only a small number of sun beds available. This means that it is extremely difficult to secure a sun bed throughout the day. Many other guests began to “reserve” sunbeds from as early as 6am which is expected due to the extremely low amount of them. This prompted us to do the same, simply because that’s the only way to ensure we got one, this then prompted certain bar staff to come along and move our towels off of the bed and place them on the bar. We then returned from having breakfast to find that our chosen sun beds had been taken and there was no where else to sit. IT IS ABSOLUTELY APPALLING. Moving on, the hotel has claimed a section of the beach for the guests staying. This sounds perfect at first because of the hotel being all inclusive… The hotel then charges €10 each for a bed on the beach per day. With the weather being 30C+ from early morning, you can imagine how hot the sand gets on your feet. We found that this was the only option on some days due to lack of sun beds available at the pool. Again, this demonstrates that the hotel cannot accommodate the large volume of guests they have. The manager… Where to begin with him, we found him to be very rude and dismissive with all issues raised. He would often resort to raising his voice in attempts to dismiss any concerns/queries we had and further demonstrated a lack of professionalism and urge to ensure guest satisfaction was priority. He enforces the rules regarding dress code within the hotel, mainly aimed towards females. My partner was wearing a BEACH COVERUP over her bikini when within the hotel, it visibly covered her body from top to bottom but still deemed unacceptable??? This being said, some females can then been seen walking past in just a bikini and it was totally fine, where is the consistency? When we asked the staff member who challenged my partners attire, she stated “IT IS MY MANAGER, HE WOULD NOT BE HAPPY WITH THAT”. The soft drinks are tasteless, the COLA is possibly the worst drink I’ve ever had, completely flat and again tasteless. This is a fair review and so must be noted that the cocktails are nice, with a wide variety and the MYTHOS lager is also very nice and cold. Further to this, the evening entertainment is good by which the hotel has singers and musical bands playing until 11pm every night which was nice to listen to and engage with. The hotel advertises itself as a “5 STAR RESORT” which is absence, not a chance it can be graded this and is most definitely a 3 star at most. They charge €150 upon arriving which although is not the hotel itself and more the government tax, this would be greatly reduced had the hotel not mark themselves as 5 stars. Overall, the experience was unpleasant and we WILL NOT be returning or recommending this hotel to anybody. DO NOT book excursions through them either, it is MUCH cheaper to book with company’s outside of the hotel as you walk towards the town. If I was to grade the hotel out of 10, it would be a 3!
