There’s a lot going on in Ao Nang. If you’re curious about our usual travel preferences, check our other reviews—but even so, this place still works. Every destination is a compromise: village, resort, city, beach. Ao Nang, with all its quirks, asks you to make a few compromises too—but somehow convinces you to stay. It’s a hub, or maybe a “lost place,” for people aged 22–36 who momentarily misplaced their balance during the search and reached for weed, tattoos, and corn-bead haircuts to help find the answers. Or you’re just passing through. 😉 Anyhow- worth passing. Rooms vs Villas Sea view from most rooms, not all villas. It’ same same if you ask me. Worth it? depends on preferences. Wi-Fi – 2/10 Slow and weak coverage. Front Desk – 5/10 24/7, but English is inconsistent depending on what you want. Service (Restaurant & Cleaning) – 9/10 Very good cleaning and restaurant service. Cleanliness – 8/10 Well maintained, clean and not worn, despite age. Location – 10/10 Best in Ao Nang. Central yet quiet, sea views and mountain backdrop. Many nearby hotels are high-rise with small shaded pools—this feels more open and balanced. Room – 7/10 Spacious, older but clean. Dated bathroom, no smell. Hard beds, loud AC, thin walls - you will hear your neighbors doing their business. Twin beds pushed together- not a king, but works very well! Towels are old and fringed, but works. Value for Money – 7/10 ~1,300 SEK/night for 2 persons in Deluxe in high season – pretty good. Breakfast – 6/10 Limited Thai/Indian selection. Fresh and good quality, but missing juice, pancakes, and proper yogurt/granola. Pool – 9/10 Clean, refreshing, plenty of loungers, no rush to reserve. Towels are supplied 09-18, but are worn and bleeched. Plastic loungers. Food Nearby – 9/10 Walk 10–12 min inland for small, ”genuine”local restaurants. Family of four eats well for ~650 THB. Wonderful taste and wide selection. Overall – 7/10 Ao Nang feels a bit tired (second visit, last in 2022), but this hotel offers a very solid experience. Would stay again if returning to Ao Nang.
