Some good, nothing great

Lots of good: Staff are mostly incredibly attentive and polite; good drinks selection; lovely bar; gorgeous views; nice room. However, there are a few major concerns that would stop me returning. The food quality is poor and often cold. When it runs out, trays aren't filled up quick enough meaning you can miss out. Bedroom sheets don't get changed unless requested (ours got turned inside out, I think to create the impression they in fact had been cleaned...). While the room we had was great, the AC unit wasn't working properly and, despite several calls to reception, they were unable to fix it, resulting in me manufacturing a temporary DIY solution - not really how I want to be spending my time. Finally, one of the pools is labelled as "adults only" - which is a nice touch during the summer holidays - but this simply isn't enforced. Keep the rule, or get rid of it.

Great hotel, very clean and Nikolas is a star

Good clean hotel with plenty to do. Staff are mostly very friendly. Shout out to Nikolas in the main pool bar, who made an effort with everyone and added to the vibe. Food was good, plenty of options. Lunch menu at the small restaurant was the best. Pasta and salads were all delicious and become our favourite. Room was spacious, very clean and well serviced. Despite it being on the hill, the golf cart taxi service was a real bonus. We had a couple of issues within our group, but we're all resolved quickly and with minimal fuss. We had been in Kos the year before and wouldn't have rushed back. This year we went with friends and had a much better experience. It was a memorable holiday, and fantastic break, made all the better by booking this hotel.

This hotel is truly exceptional. Second visit after their renovations and I have nothing but praise for a very clean hotel. Rooms have sea views a fridge, kettle beach/pool towels are provided. You also have complimentary water in your room. These small things make a huge difference. Breakfast was plentiful. Entertainment was great, great vibe. Town is 10-15 min walk up the coastal path. We stayed at a hotel further up the coastal path last year and we had a horrendous experience there, never to return. Lagas Agean village. GBB is the place to be. The adults pool didn't bother us as there are other pools to choose from, also the adult pool doesn't have shade and the only reason children were diverted to that pool was because the sea breeze Family pool with entertainment was out of service for a few hours,so the families with children had to go somewhere else. People should focus on the positives not just post one negative because there are many good things. The staff are all from arrival to the end all welcoming, friendly and work extremely hard. Only thing I will give as feedback is there should be more buggys available at certain point to take guests to the top,as this is difficult to walk in the extreme heat. We rarely came across a buggy. So there needs to be more easily available at the mini market. Thank you GBB for giving us the break we needed in a clean comfortable environment.

Keep the adults only area a children free zone.

Like many people I select my holiday destination based on certain criteria, one of which is an adults only area. This is not because I dislike children but rather because I want some respite from day to day life on my vacation. When grown adults whom I presume can read the signs, bring children into the adults only area, I find that disrespectful and it certainly contributes to a negative experience of the hotel. Grand Blue Hotel please enforce the sanctity of that area for your guests who would like a children free zone.
