Grand Central Hotel

The location of Grand Central Hotel was in easy walking distance to Al Rigga Metro Station and it was easy to get taxis as well. The main entrance to the hotel has steps and a very steep ramp. This did not make access easy for anyone with walking challenges. On arrival at the hotel, it looked tired and dated. The room had a very strong stale unpleasant odour. It appears there's no smoke free rooms and the room next door was occupied by heavy smokers with the odour invading my room. The carpet had holes in it and was coming away from the walls. The lighting and air conditioning system was quite complicated with many different switches. The hairdryer was like something from a 1960's movie with no temperature or fan control rendering it useless. The noise level was totally unacceptable with constant noise throughout the night from both the salon on level 7 and the nightclubs. The man who services our rooms was very polite and did his best. Breakfast was included in our booking but it was of a very poor standard. The only fresh fruit was a very sad bowl of fruit salad. Hot water had to be requested to make tea and was provided in a tea pot. Tea and coffee were brewed on a heating device which rendered it undrinkable. The keys frequently had to be reprogrammed to open the doors. Service at reception was civil.

Nice hotel.Rooms are old but still good condition. Vanessa from Reception was friendly and helpful. Concierge team need to be improve.

The room was clean and big. The staff very friendly. And check in check out very smooth .. especially Elsa in the counter every morning.. breakfast very nice and delicious
