As a solo traveller I was able to see the famous spots and activities in Ubud hiring the hotel's tour service, the guide Bagas is very knowledge about the turistics spots savings a lot of time and money and being a good friends in this journey..

Great Location & Friendly Staff, But Needs Some Fixes

The hotel is in a super convenient spot, close to everything. The food is excellent, and the rooms are spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. However, the washroom is outdated and needs urgent renovation. Also, the AC doesn’t work properly, making it uncomfortable at night. Other than that, no complaints!

A lovely place to stay!

This was my second visit to this fine hotel. All staff were lovely, and the ambience very calming and relaxing with the beautiful gardens. I wish to particularly praise my 'houseboy' who cleaned my room most days. PURNAMA was diligent, respectful, excellent in his work, kind, with a good sense of humour. He was a delight and nothing was too much trouble for him. My room was large with pleasant outdoor seating. The pool is lovely, but be careful walking as this is very slippery poolside. The restaurant provides good cuisine, especially with the buffet. I highly recommend this hotel.

Always a great stay

My fourth stay at Grand Istana Rama was fantastic as always. I was able to check in 2 hours early which was a great start. The room was perfect, plenty of room, seating area outside, 2 minute walk to Beachwalk Shopping Centre, Kuta beach over the road. The staff are fantastic, from the Bar Resto 69, to those working around the hotel grounds and cleaning rooms, and reception, everyone greets you with a hello and a smile. Special mention to my favourite, Maniez, who has been on reception at my last 3 stays. Maniez had a big smile and greeting for me when I saw her and was always ready to help with anything I needed. Lots to love but not for us

This place had a lot of good points - Great location for Kuta hustle of nightlife, surf, shop, massage repeat - Beautiful gardens, animal feeding - Friendly team - thanks Danny :-) - Huge deep pool 2metres plus shallow kids area and pool bar - Range of dinner options all reasonably priced - Wide breakfast options although not the highest quality But it still wasn't for us. Part of this was expectations - reviews suggested it was a four star hotel but the room was three star due to the maintenance and general cleanliness. - On arrival there was grit in both our beds and sheets were stained - this was fixed the next day though. - The bathroom had mould in the cornors - There were mosquitos although the desk gave us a can of spray. We would have probably been alright in dry season as we would not have spent much time in the room but in the wet season the room itself was more important to our stay. Only an average from us but could see that for others it would be a top choice
