Underwhelming, poorly maintained rooms

Cut short our stay here due to the poor experience. Front office staff at check in repeatedly assured us we were accorded ‘upgrades’ as Accor Platinum but refused to mention the upgraded room type. Only after much questioning on the room type did they acknowledge no upgrade was give. If no upgrade is available, it is better to be upfront rather than lying to guests. On pictures, the rooms look perfect. However in reality, the room was not very well maintained, cob webs at sliding door glass. Pool access area was also very dirty (hair from previous guests, mold, dirt, dried leaves, etc.). Gym was otherwise well maintained and plenty of machines available. Food was also good at the restaurant but prices are extremely steep. The menu on the official website is outdated and prices have increased significantly. There are also plenty of restaurants surrounding the resort offering seafood and thai dishes which are much more well priced.

So peaceful and surrounded by nature, Grand Mercure Khao Lak Bangsak is the perfect place to relax and rest the heart. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable, making it easy to get a good rest. All the staff were so kind, especially Khun Pinky and Khun Irene. Thank you for making our stay truly memorable 💚🌴

Our stay at Grand Mercure Khaolak Bangsak was fantastic !!!! We spent our anniversary for one night but had a very warm welcome when we arrived at the hotel by Khun Kris. The hotel has a unique design and landscape. Khun Lilly gave us hotel information and a room tour after checked in with a wonderful smile and service. Really love the room !! Our room was a pool access which was very outstanding, clean, modern and comfy. The bathroom is very beautiful !!! Breakfast was very good too. All of the staff are very lovely thanks to Pinkie, Irene, and Khun Prince for a wonderful stay. And this could not be perfect without you Khun Jane who has organized us for the entire stay.
