Grand Palace Hotel Sanur - Bali

It is a fantastic place to stay just for the staff and the room alone. Pool access room is the go, especially when you've been out in the humidity all day. Staff are very helpful and accommodating where they can. Even the security crew are warm and welcoming. There are a couple negatives, although they are very minor. The restaurant is smoking friendly so if you're a non-smoker be prepared to be surrounded by smoke. There is a smokers area, but it's not managed so people smoke any where in the restaraunt. Having said that, this is Bali so you have to accept that it is a smokers paradise.

The staff were exceptionally accommodating, and the venue and food were wonderful—beautifully prepared and served with care. We truly grateful for the warmth and hospitality throughout the event. It was an inspiring and meaningful experience. Terima kasih! 🌸

I knew from the moment we booked the Honeymoon Spa Pack (3hrs)for 2 that it wasn’t going to be a great experience. To start she wrote down the wrong time but I only realised when she rang to confirm with my husband. On our arrival, the room we were taken to for our feet to be washed was hot. Then we were taken to the twin massage room. The facial commenced and all we could hear was the building works that were going on next door. I joked and said to them they needed music on. They apologised saying it was broken but she quickly ran out to get her phone to play music through. Half way through facial they have their sound system working. The most annoying thing was the absence of the staff in the room. These 2 girls kept coming in and out of the room constantly, it was a noisy door. On one occasion, my whole body was exposed and the door was open. Who knows who seen what on the other side of the door. We were left unattended for at least 20 minutes at one point, no explanations were given, they both just walked out through our facial, they were waiting for a mask to dry on our face, however , we were not to know that as nothing was mentioned. One girl returned to the room and proceeded to take off my mask, and then did my husband’s also. I asked if her friend was having lunch or not coming back. She responded with a “ no.” There was no product applied after the mask, I would have expected at least a moisturiser. I felt the massage was very poor , the coconut scrub was slapped on and we were left again with this wet/cold product on our bodies. The girls entered the room again to scrub our bodies, before being smothered in cold water with no warning. Again, there was no awareness of my dignity as my breasts were fully exposed with no offer of a towel to cover . Once finished we were told they’d finished and we were to have a shower. No soap or product to wash with. Overall we were very disappointed with the whole process. I would definitely not recommend to anyone.

The hotel was overall clean and the room was quite spacious, which was nice. However, the air conditioning didn’t work well, so the room got pretty uncomfortable at night. The pool was good, and the staff and service were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also quite good. The location isn’t great — it’s about a 10–15 minute walk to the beach, which isn’t too bad but not ideal if you want to be closer to the action. The Wi-Fi was patchy and unreliable, and the hotel spa was very disappointing — definitely not worth using as there are much better (and cheaper) options nearby. It’s an ok place for a short stay, but I’d look elsewhere next time, preferably somewhere closer to the beach

Found this hotel very disappointing. We booked through Secret Escapes (this wasn’t the hotel listed on the booking). Access to the beach and village was on poor roads and the promised beach transfer was non- existent. Pool was soulless and sunbeds were reserved early by those who had poolside rooms. Breakfast was ok but slow service.
