Grand Sunset Princess All Inclusive

Stayed here for a week, in mid-April. Resort is nice and well maintained, grounds well kept. It is showing its age though. Not sure how full it was but it wasn't overcrowded. The staff is pretty much very friendly and helpful. I don't get the reviews of people saying otherwise. The pool probably needed some additional cleaning at times from leaves/debris. Parts of the pool have small sitting areas with jets, most of these either didn't work or barely worked. We had a room with 2 twins and a "pull out couch". While it is a couch, do not think anyone can sleep in it. Not only from the size, but it was incredibly uncomfortable. We eventually complained and they brought us a roll away type bed that was much much better. The room was a good size for 3. The drain in the shower kept backing up in the rest of the bathroom. The TV was tiny, and probably about 20 years old. The fridge couldn't keep anything cold. There was only 1 accessible power outlet, not including the one in the bathroom. That outlet was near the foot of one of the beds. No outlet near the desk, tables, nightstand. Kind of bizarre. Now on on to the biggest negative- the food. I'll start by saying i love all-inclusive eating. Normally. I've gone to maybe a dozen or so AI resorts over the last 15ish years. this was the worst and a big letdown. Breakfast buffet was limited. Don't get an omelette, they basically wrap them up with raw egg still uncooked on the inside. Lunch was meh. Dinner was at times unedible. A few things here and there were decent. We ate at the steak house in the main building, that was good. The steakhouse at the pool was bad. The hibachi at the teppanyaki was really good, best of our stay. We went into town the last night to have dinner so we could enjoy a meal. It's probably good bang for your buck. I would not go back knowing what I know now. The food was that big of a negative for me. Added reviews- USA Transfers-no problems, would use again Xplor-expensive but a fun time. Booked through one of the companies in the lobby. Loved their lunch buffet, far better than the hotel.

Amazing Vacation.!!! Big shout out to the Chillout Beachfront resteraunt. Angel ,Raziel, Absalone, José (amazing beach bartender:)))) . You really made our vacation a very special one. The fish platter , burger and guacamole was sooo good Javier and the rest of the buffet staff , you all work so hard Thank you. We are looking forward to returning post renovations. Our rooms were dated but clean, bed was comfortable, our fridge was stocked everyday and the room service was amazing. It would have been more convenient to have an extra waste basket in the living area instead of the lone garbage bin in the bathroom, the plugs in the room were minimal and had to pull out the night table to access one. Nothing like watching deer, monkeys and hearing the birds while sitting on our balcony having coffee and eating breakfast. The pools -save your chair in the morning . I would recommend more umbrellas or shelters at the pools . Buffets are clean, lots of food I would recommend a staff member watch the buffet as we noticed kids licking the Nutella and ice cream spoon and putting it back .Hand sanitizer upon entry and exit at the buffett would also be optimal. Resteraunts are good we loved the food and staff at Steak house but would recommend sharp knives - they were quite dull . We will definitely be back;)) .

This place is horrible. We are returning guests for the 9th time and were told that we didn’t qualify for any upgrade because the owner changed the policy and now you have to stay 10 or 20 times in order to get an upgrade. We came twice last year and stayed here and received a spa day. This year nothing and the front desk staff treats guests like trash. They look at you like it is coming out of their pocket. They treat guests like garage. They aren’t even sure of their own policy. Maybe it’s 10 or 20 visits but could just as easily be 22 or 14. Who the heck knows. I will not return here if they gave it to me for free. Food is just okay. Drinks are watered down. Pay a little more and go somewhere else. There are many beautiful properties in Cancun that take hospitality to a whole new level. Go to the Barcelo or pallidum. Don’t come to the grand Disney princess or Rivera.

Alejandro, Raziel, Ever, and Marisol were great entertainment team! It was an amazing experience for our family. All the afternoon and daily entertainment kept us entertained the whole week!! Would highly recommend this resort! From Canada!
