AVOID ROOM 332

31 Jul 2025
Checking in: All fine, arrived late at night, process fairly quick and luggage brought to our room. A food and water package was left for us in the fridge due to our late arrival. Room: We were in Room 332. For anyone going that is allocated this room, REFUSE IT! The room has an ant problem. We noticed a few on arrival and more the following morning. We used their WhatsApp service to report it and it was cleared up. But they kept coming back. They were getting rid of the ants but not dealing with the source of the problem. They come back and there are just as many! Just to emphasise the scale of the problem, we found them in our bed, the kids beds, and the problem was particularly bad in the bathroom, our bedroom and the balcony. We asked for a room change after giving them four nights of their poor attempt in solving the issue. We asked first thing (around 8am) and they refused to change us that day. It was at this point that the receptionist became quite short with us. We were made to feel like we were the ones creating the problem by asking to change room. We felt they were extremely unhelpful and cold with us and this attitude continued until we left. We did eventually get our room change the following day. We were allocated Room 308. Luckily we were at the resort with others and we moved our stuff to their room whilst we awaited for the new room to become available. Otherwise we would have had to pack everything up as they would not allow us to move direct from one room to another. Room 308 was fine. There was the odd ant in the bathroom but nothing like the original room we were in. Bars: The drinks were very good. They were very well made most of the time. All drinks were available and no exclusions like we have previously had at some other hotels. Some bar staff were better than others at making the drinks (special shout out to Andreas) and they were all pleasant to deal with. We drank mainly at the pool area where the restaurant, quiet pool and kids pool are located. My only recommendation would be to have more staff available at busier periods. Snack bar: There is a snack bar at the other pool (where the slides are) that serves from 12-3. It wasn’t as good as others we have used previously at Greek resorts but still worth using. We enjoyed the days when they served gyros. The chips were also tasty. They had nice pancakes that the kids enjoyed and served ice cream too. Main restaurant: The breakfast was quite basic and repetitive. There was some nicer food available at lunch and dinner but again quite repetitive. We didn’t notice any themed nights with the food like we had done at previous hotels. What we did like was the outdoor seating area and the staff that worked in the restaurant. We were a party of 10 and we were always allocated a table quickly. The staff were pleasant and were great with the kids too. We also really liked that bottles of wine were available to take to the table. There is a time slot for each meal but they start clearing up with an hour to go which is frustrating if you choose to arrive later to eat. Pools: We based ourselves at the quiet pool/kids pool area which we liked. It was fairly easy to get two sun beds together each day (we normally got down about 11am). The sun beds are very comfortable. The kids pool was great for our 2 year old who played freely. The other pools where the slides are we only used once. It’s much more livelier if that’s your thing. Beach: The beach is just across the road from the hotel. The beach itself is very nice and plenty of available sun beds. I’d avoid on the windy days but it’s great on a calmer day. No bar but overall a nice beach. Animation team/Entertainment: We were at the quieter pool/kids pool area and didn’t notice them at all in the day. It was almost like they did not have an entertainment team. I think most of the activity must have been based at the other pool. We went to the kids disco once which wasn’t great; very basic and no treats for the kids. We watched a Tina Turner show and an acrobats show that were quite good. They had a mobile bar there too which was handy. Kids club: Very basic. Our 7 year old only went twice. They do take them outside to explore some of the grounds which is nice but the club itself is a bit depressing looking inside. Where we stayed last year, they gave the kids lunch but they don’t do that here which would be a simple improvement to make. Location: It’s in a remote location surrounded by farm land. They grow their own produce which we thought was great. The views we had from both rooms were nice. It’s great that beach is so near. If you want to explore on foot, turn right as you get to the beach and there is a bar around 15 minutes away. Walk another 5 minutes and you’re in Marmari which had a few bars and restaurants and a couple of shops. If going into Kos, it costs around 30 euros to get a taxi each way but I believe buses are available too. Overall: I would give this a 2/5 rating. Had we not had the issue with our room, maybe 4/5. I would not stay here again. My biggest advice to anyone going would be that if you arrive and find ants in your room, request a room change immediately. But expect to be met with a poor attitude from reception staff. Do not give them time to sort the problem because they won’t. The ants will come back again! And definitely DO NOT ACCEPT ROOM 332. Get a room without ants and you’ll enjoy your holiday mostly. There are newer and older parts to the hotel so it may be the case that certain areas are more prone to the problem than others. The newer rooms are much nicer. Sort the ant problem and the attitude problems in reception and you’ll have yourself a much nicer hotel.

Great stay in a lovely hotel

31 Jul 2025
We stayed at the hotel in July 2025, in a Casa bungalow. All the staff were great—the receptionists, housekeeping, lifeguards, restaurant staff—everyone was friendly, smiling, and helpful. I would especially like to mention our waiters in the restaurant (Miss Kennel Jane, Miss Christina and Mr. Nikos) – the children loved them, as well as the lifeguards – they were always smiling and watched over the slides all day long to make sure the children were safe. The accommodation was newly renovated, everything was clean, cleaning took place daily, and the cleaning lady was very nice. We didn't have any ants, but be careful - just leave cookie crumbs on the floor around the trash can and they will appear immediately. It happened to us once, but we quickly fixed it and then it was fine, plus it was our fault. What we really liked was the hotel's concept of growing its own vegetables. Finally, someone who not only talks about sustainability but also implements it. The view from the room to the gardens was beautiful anyway, but this took it to another level. The beach is beautiful, we appreciated the showers both on the beach and at the entrance to it, the sea was beautifully clean and warm, and to my delight, the water in the pools was also warm - my younger son can't swim yet, so I had to go everywhere with him (the minimum depth in the pool is 110 cm, except for the children's pool, where it is 60 cm) . A nice touch was the watermelon served every afternoon by waiters among the guests right by the pools :-) My only minor complaint would be about the food selection at the restaurant, where I personally missed having a wider selection of fish and seafood, and the children would have appreciated a wider selection of breakfast cereals. However, we always ate well, and the children's section was particularly popular with us. The self-service refrigerator with bottles of wine was great, allowing each guest to choose according to their preferences. What other reviews here mention, and we can confirm, is the constant queue for pancakes by the beach pool – we eventually gave up and didn't even try them. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back sometime.

Lovely family oriented hotel

31 Jul 2025
We were a little worried prior to arrival after reading some reviews but just goes to show how subjective they are … we had a fabulous week here! Travelled with my partner and a teenager. Rooms - We had a casa bungalow room (1st floor), slightly on the small side but adequate for the 3 of us, no complaints at all about the room and the balcony was huge. Hairdryer in the room was good, not a small travel one so bonus for me. No ants and air con worked perfectly! Rooms cleaned everyday, fresh towels. Beach towels available to change near the gym daily if needed. The grounds are lovely, so pretty and well tended, growing vegetables - it is a gorgeous setting. Pools - 2 pools, the top pool near the main restaurant has comfy sun loungers and a baby pool near it, it was more peaceful here. The bottom pool was noisier as that’s the one near the slides. These were great fun! There was entertainment each day around the pool and beach area - football, water polo, aqua aerobics etc. No pressure to join but fun for those that did. There’s also a gym and activities like yoga daily. Lifeguards on duty every day. There are no sun bed wars here! Signs up asking guest not to reserve them and people generally respect this. We didn’t have any problems finding them near the pools or beach at different times of the day. Food - we’d say this was your standard all inclusive at the main restaurant. If you can’t find something to eat here then I’m sorry all inclusive really isn’t for you. Every day was similar (no theme nights) but there was always a good selection of hot and cold foods, meat and salads. The snack bar at the pool provided gyros, burgers, fruit and crepes and waffles on alternate days. It is kept “warm” but we enjoyed the gyros and hot dogs nonetheless. Sometimes we queued, sometimes we didn’t! Just watch for gaps! The ice cream is delicious. The pool bar was staffed by one person so there is often a queue here for cocktails. There are soft drinks, water and beer on tap which you can help yourself too otherwise. Al la carte - pretty disappointing compared to other hotels. We enjoyed it for a change but didn’t overly rate it. You have to book this the day before you want to attend via the main restaurant. Go early before 8am to reserve a table otherwise it will be booked. Beach - a short walk across a quiet road gets you to the sandy beach. Plenty of sun beds and beach is generally clean. There is no drinks service at the beach, so you need to get drinks from pool bar. You don’t need beach shoes as sand is soft and not too pebbly getting in and out. The sea is either flat calm or choppy when the island is windy which can be often. A beautiful setting. Shop - overpriced. Only used this to use the free air pump to pump up our inflatable. It’s a 15 minute walk to Marmari down the beach road to other shops, bars etc. Entertainment - this seemed to be catered for younger children at the tennis court area at the front of the hotel. There was also a quiz night and beach party when we were there but we felt the entertainment was poor compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at but didn’t particularly bother us. Take games / cards with you for the evening. There are pool tables in reception area too. Extras - bus stop outside the hotel on the beach road takes you to Kos town, cheap and regular. Get to the stop 10 minutes early just in case bus is early. Hotel is not too far from Tingaki where the beach is still beautiful and the strip there is a bit more lively if you want different bars and restaurants. If you want order a taxi then reception will do this for you and order in advance to make sure you get one. Trips - we did a 3 island cruise with Christina boats which was fabulous. There are loads of boats at Kos harbour so just book one as they all go the same places. Some boats are more chilled than others. Cost about €30 euro for adults. We also went to Zia to see the sunset one evening. It’s gets very busy and is only small so book and excursion or a taxi and book a restaurant in advance. Well worth it though views are incredible! Overall we had a fantastic week at Casa Paradiso! Thanks to all the team there and we wouldn’t hesitate recommending it to families in particular.

Lovely hotel

31 Jul 2025
Beautiful hotel, grounds are immaculate and it was great to see home grown produce used within the restaurant. Food was nice and plentiful, if something ran out it was replaced within seconds. Staff within the restaurant were all pleasant and very hard working. Housing keeping fab! All staff were friendly from front or house who greeted us after a long day travelling to Oni at the pool bar. Massive thanks to Fahran, apologies about the spelling, who made the effort to make my daughters smile every day at the crepe area. The lifeguards were the happiest people I seen; forever smiling which was infectious. My only criticism would be the booking for the Al A Carte; we tried three times and every time we were told that there were no spaces, perhaps we were unlucky but this process may need revamped of attending at 8.30 to book, maybe an online option could also be good. Overall a very enjoyable time at the hotel

Beautiful

31 Jul 2025
After a really short transfer from the airport. We were greeted with cold lemon water and a very warm welcome from reception . To our surprise we had been upgraded from a family interconnecting room to a four bedroom grande Casa Paradiso room . On our 3rd day it was my parters birthday and he received a home made cake and champagne to our room, The room was beautiful, the air con was fab. Lovely clean towels and water each day . The hotel is fantastic, from the accommodation to the food to the pools and location. There is a relaxed vibe which helps you feel super relaxed and on holiday . We have absolutely loved our holiday and are so pleased we chose casa paradiso ❤️
