Grecotel Luxme Daphnila Bay Dassia

We had a very good time due to the friendships ourselves and the kids made whilst here, however the good news sadly ends there. We feel we have been mis-sold (or certainly not read the small print) with a variety of examples. Horseriding on the beach, water slides and restaurants none of which exist here, but can be found at a sister hotel if you’re willing to jump in a cab. Well anything is in reach of a cab ride so why advertise it as here ? The scenery is very pretty but the hotel itself needs some work, the lobby and reception area must have recently been refreshed as looks to be to a decent standard. However the main restaurant has no aircon so if your unfortunate enough to get sat close to the glass frontage then take a towel to dry your brow. It’s also impossible to eat outside given the swarms of wasps that constantly become a pain in the arse or part of your meal. Especially the beachside restaurant which is a real shame given the views but it borders on ridiculous and on many occasions it was way too much and we had to dash to our room with takeaway boxes to be able to finish our lunch in peace. The wasps seem to be encouraged with random plates of food left in places around the restaurants for them to graze on instead of removing them full stop. The rooms are spacious however are extremely dated and the bathrooms are very tired, even just a lick of paint away from the manky magnolia would give the place a lift. So much potential given the views and what could be. Trying to book the Al-la- cartes via the app is tedious. I do find it laughable however that the two we did manage to book can be labelled as such, the Greek for example is recycled food from the main restaurant put on a platter board with spicy sausage which is the same sausage dished up at breakfast and lamb koftas that have been out at lunch 5 days out of 7 for example. If Al la carte just means having table service then that’s a new one on me. Very disappointing to say the least given the 6.5k its cost for a weeks stay and certainly don’t feel like we’ve had value for money. Staff are all friendly and polite so have no arguments there at all and could not fault this, the room was also made up everyday which was also very good along with fresh towel changes daily.

We have just had an amazing all inclusive holiday . The hotel had a lovely sandy beach and there a bar where you could have lunch and at night was an Asian restaurant, good quality food. The other restaurant was Greek and very good as well despite the wasps that buzzed around. The staff did their best to get rid of them. The beach location is down a steep hill or by golf buggy. The water is clear , warm and calm. The pool at the hotel was ideal not too big but enough for the children to play. The room was comfortable and impeccable cleaned. What made the hotel so special was the level of service by the staff . Our son had nut & sesame allergy and Valandis the chef took great time & care preparing lovely fresh food for him. What was nice is that the food on display was of impeccable standard and healthy and most importantly delicious and amazing variety. The dinning area was run so efficiently by Stathis who was friendly snd made us always so welcome.Likewise Eric remembered our coffee requests and always so cheerful, despite some impatient customers. I must also thank Yanis who made sure our son’s food arrived quickly so he never felt left out. I have stayed in hotels all over the world, however their guest support team is out of this world. Alexandra and Alexa were also so helpful and no requests seemed too trivial . I went to get a banana for the youngest and was offered a selection of delicious fresh fruit. I want to also especially mention Appeliki who was always so polite and informative about the area and when i hurt my toe was always asking how it was the following days . The staff here made you feel that you were so special and part of a family despite having 100s guests to look after. Safe to say we miss the staff and hotel . Further more they gave us a lovely gift thanking them for staying which was a kind and thoughtful gesture, again summing up the level of service and hospitality. Overall it was the staff that made our stay memorable and wont forget it.

We arrived at the hotel 2am in the morning a family of 6. No welcoming drink but just 'your late ' from the gentleman on reception. Within 5 mins we made our way to our 3 rooms next to each other in the main hotel. It became immediately apparent the rooms were not suitable for our requirements. The next morning we spoke to hotel management and was very fortunate to meet with Konstantina who very quickly sorted out more suitable accommodation for which we was very grateful for. The views and setting of the grecotel are stunning. The pool area is nice with comfy sun beds but you have to be quick to secure them. Plenty of towels available. The pool is cold but you soon get used to it...and its quite welcoming when the temperature is high. The walk down to the beach is manageable as long as you have no medical issues. The walk up is more challenging but the cars and hotel buggies run all day to take you up or down. There are toilets and restaurants on the beach where your all inclusive package is also available here. The metal sunbeds on the beach are very uncomfortable...but at least the sea is like a warm bath and very safe for children. If you fancy a change of scenery,. There is a boat from 11.30 every hour on the pier to check out 3 other hotels around the bay which you can get off and use their facilities. However, you do have to pay for food and drinks. There is a big but to this service. One boat serves all the hotels with a maximum load of 9 passengers. This is not fit for purpose. Family's are split up and half have to walk which is challenging or get taxis. The amount of abuse we witnessed the guy in charge of the boat was disturbing as family's had waited for this free boat service only to be told sorry full. We took a four hour private boat trip around the bay. Although expensive it is well worth the experience. The hotel provide a packed lunch but bring your pool towels as the trip includes swimming, caves and plenty of fish to discover while snorkeling. The boat stops at a very pretty village where you can get refreshments. We booked a mini bus for 6 through the hotel to take us a short drive into Corfu old town which cost 60 euros. We had a main meal , 1 bottle of wine, 4 beers and 1 glass of prosseco. The meal cost 260.50 euros. (No starters or dessert). We got a cab back for 50 euros..be wary some uber cabs tried to charge 100 euros return. There is a free daily bus shuttle to corfu old town from the hotel between 10am and 14.00 I highly recommend booking the Greek, Asian, Italian and Greek garden restaurants experience. No extra charge for this. The food is amazing in all these restaurants and they do have childrens menus. As we stayed over 7 days we could dine at any of these restaurants twice. No extra charge. There is a drinks service around the pool which is excellent. The pool closes at 6pm which l found very odd but l am gussing this is because the italian restaurant overlooks the pool as does the outside drinking area. I think this is because they want ambience in the early evening time as people want their pre meal drinks which is understandable. When booking check if your room has a separate shower otherwise Bathrooms have showers over a very deep bath and could prove tricky if you have trouble climbing in and out of baths or a mobility issues. Request a non slip bath mat which they can supply. Parents note. The showers run very hot and cold so beware as the temperature of the water which was scalding before reverting back. This happened throughout the shower time. If you find your bed uncomfortable then the hotel will be happy to provide bed toppers. The rooms are kept clean and tidy. However, the floors could do with a jolly good deep clean. The fridge is stocked daily and always plenty of water provided. Sippers and gowns are also provided. . The food in the buffet was ok. The variety was not great but everything was edible. Although , foodies would be able to tell some of the food was not the best quality. Lots of pork. Chicken thighs in sauce dishes. The bacon was very cheap cuts. However, on the plus side very tasty omelettes, pancakes, variety of pastries and fruit. Fries, pizza, plenty of pasta dishes snd rice always available. I never saw a chicken breast or steak dish and the food especially in the beach restaurant was repetitive. Something else l found very odd ineed. The only time the cake section became available in the hotel lobby was when the evening meal was about to be served. Who wants cakes then? Surely they should be available mid afternoon to have with a cuppa or snack for the children. The rooms in the hotel are beginning to show their age and some are in need of an upgrade. They need to do away with the baths . Provide a separate toilet and shower facility. Also the configuration of mirrors in some of the rooms. The only mirror in my daughters room was in the bathroom so when she was trying to put make up on etc. her husband was trying to get ready. shower etc so not ideal. Also there was no magnifying make up mirror. There is aircon in the bedrooms, however, do not expect relief when entering the main hotel from the heat outside as they only have free standing air con units and are only useful if you sit right next to them. I did visit the spa and had a couple of massages which l highly recommend. There is no hairdressers on site. They do nails but not gel or extensions. There is a shop by the pool which sells snacks, beach toys, toys and small variety of clothes and provisions etc. The one thing that stood out at this hotel was the staff. They were outstanding. Front of house staff always resdy to help with any problems or request. The serving staff in the restaurant always made sure you had drinks and vey quick to clear tables. The outside staff were very quick to get your drinks order and always quick to ensure you need refills. The animation staff worked hard for adults and children.The staff are all an asset to the hotel and should be commended. The hotel entertainment is very laid back. The best night was the dj night. How l wish the dj had a spot every night. Even for the last hour. It would make such a difference. The entertainment ends at 10.30pm. We went in August so the hotel was very busy with family's and children. So if you visit during school holidays dont expect peace and quite or relaxing pool time.it wont happen. Especial shout out to Konstantina who absolutely made our stay. She was truly amazing. The Grecotel are very lucky to have such amazing professional staff who go over and beyond their duties to ensure customers enjoy their stay. Overall we had a lovely time so thank you to all at the Grecotel for a lovely holiday. .

Absolutely stunning hotel and perfect for our family vacation. Hotel is 20 mins from the airport - we travelled with Jet2 and used their private transfer which was brilliant and so quick. Shout to our driver Sabine who was so friendly! Staff at the hotel were all brilliant - bar staff work non stop to make sure you always have a drink - especially around the pool! Always greeted with a smile at the restaurants! We loved aqua gym and the instructor had such a gorgeous positive energy. Special thank you to Stephania, Christina and Pemi at the Kids Club who were amazing and made our daughters holiday! She has never wanted to go to kids club before - first time she’s ever asked for me to leave her anywhere and it is because the girls are so warm. welcoming and caring. The Mini disco was the highlight of her day and she was so sad to say goodbye to the girls - thank you so much! Hotel was spotlessly clean in all areas. Beach the best we’ve been to. Buffet best we’ve been to - spoilt for choice! Al a Cartes were all gorgeous and SO much food! Got to the pool by 9am to get a sun bed and beach by 10am to get front row. So many sun beds at the beach you’ll never struggle to get one. Always clean towels available at both beach and pool. This is a family friendly hotel rather than a family centred hotel. We absolutely loved it as it’s great for kids - plenty to do - but still quiet and luxury for parents. Pool gets rowdier in the afternoons but beach is always quiet and relaxing. We feel we’d be hard pushed to beat this hotel so will definitely be back! :-) Thank you to everyone at the hotel and Jet2 for such a fabulous holiday!
