We’re nearing the end of a 7 day stay and enquired about extending our room beyond the check out time. Rocio on reception, who we dealt with all week, was very polite and professional and said we had to check later in the afternoon. We’ve just returned from reception having dealt with Khalid who was anything but professional and polite , accusing us of calling him a liar when he said it wouldn’t be possible to extend beyond the 2pm check out. He also wrongly stated there was a charge for this between 12 and 2 and we pointed out that the check out for delux suite upgrade was 2pm and then he had to recode our room key to reflect this. We were just surprised as the deluxe suite area (Room 173) we’re in is quiet today.He was rude, his tone and mannerisms awful, not something you want on a public facing role. All that had to be said was we are full and it can’t be extended not “are you questioning me about my job and what I’m telling you” . As an aside we also overheard him being rude to the person in front of us at the desk. Some remedial manners training is required. The rest of interaction with the staff has been impeccable . A couple of observations on the hotel , the omelette & bacon station need 2 people on it as the lady was overwhelmed at times .Sun-bed reservations are bad with the usual nutters up at the crack of dawn putting down their towels and mostly not using them until after lunch time. If you’re offered an upgrade (payable) it’s worthwhile negotiating 😉
