When I checked in for my 6-night stay, I was told I’d been upgraded to make my stay more comfortable, which I genuinely appreciated at the time. Unfortunately, that was the only positive moment of this entire experience. The ‘upgraded’ room turned out to be outdated with power sockets that didn’t work, so I asked to see the room I had originally booked. At first glance, it looked better, but on closer inspection it was shocking: a cracked bathroom sink, brown patches on every mirror, and dirty sheets with hair from a previous guest on the pillowcase. There was thick dust, the TV remote was filthy, and the bathroom and shower floors were covered in hair. When I raised this with reception, housekeeping promised a ‘deep clean,’ but all they did was run a dry flat mop quickly over the bedroom floor - no proper cleaning, no bathroom floors touched, no cleaning products or sanitiser used. I ended up spending over an hour cleaning and sanitising the room myself with my own wipes just to feel comfortable enough to stay. I had booked a double bed but was instead given twin beds. I had to request for them to be joined, and while the beds were pushed together, they left two single duvets rather than providing a proper double or queen-size one. By that point, I was too exhausted to push further. Things only got worse. Early morning drilling and hammering made it impossible to rest, so I spent the entire day outside to escape the noise. When I returned, I was kept awake by a crying baby in one room and a guest snoring so loudly next door that security could hear it from the hallway. The solution offered by reception was for me to move rooms for the night only and then move again the next day - completely disregarding that I had already been staying here for days. Hoping things would improve, I settled in for the night only to be woken early by loud drilling and hammering in the building. I spent the entire day out to escape the noise, but when I returned, I couldn’t rest because of a crying baby on one side and a snoring guest on the other. The noise was so bad that security came to my room and confirmed he could hear the guest snoring from my room and the hallway. The solution offered by reception was for me to move to another room for ‘the night only’ and MAYBE the Duty Manager ‘might’ move me to another the next day. I appreciate the receptionist was trying to be helpful, but it felt like no one cared about resolving the problem properly. Absolutely ridiculous! This stay has been exhausting, stressful, sleepless and deeply disappointing. I deeply regret booking this hotel and would never recommend it to anyone. What was meant to be a relaxing trip has been nothing but stress, sleepless nights and disappointment.
