Hideaway Beach Resort and Spa

We had an unforgettable experience at Hideaway Beach Resort. The overwater villas with pools are breathtaking. I could stay forever! We especially enjoyed the all inclusive meal and drink plan. The quality of the food and presentation were outstanding. Our favorite waiter, Veetu, made us feel like royalty. All of the staff is truly exceptional. I can't wait to return and bring friends to this private island oasis.

I arrived on the island with my husband for our honeymoon excited to explore the beautiful island. We were greeted and immediately taken to a private lounge while waiting for our seaplane. It felt very special. Our butler gave us a tour of our all inclusive package including our room. She stated our refrigerator contents were included and no need to pay. Given it was our HONEYMOON we drank some wine and champagne. The following day we ordered a bottle of champagne to our room, and we were told by our butler “you do not need to pay”. Thinking great, that’s wonderful. A few days later we ordered the same thing and were told all bottles had been chargeable to us as well as the refrigerator in the mini bar…. We took it upon ourselves to talk to the manager who graciously removed the items from our bill as our butler did not communicate correctly. Our villa was beautiful and each comes with bikes for each guest to get around the island. Right off the bat, one of our bikes was stolen by none other than another couple in the villas across from us. Our butler was alerted and did nothing. We had to get out bike back ourselves. Don’t worry, this happened again in which we had to approach the other couple. We were approached the following day by the managers of the butlers and made out to feel like the bad guys. The last day, we were given departure information and after booking seaplane for arrival and departure, we were told we had to take a speed boat and were not given the seaplane option, which might I add is an additional $120 per person. So we had no choice but to take the boat. Again, given NO information especially on why we were leaving at 11 for a 7pm flight, we left via speed boat only to find out we’d be stuck on another island for hours before taking a small plane to the mainland and then having to wait there for 5+ hours. We were told there was no lounge for guests, so we booked a hotel to cool off in before our flight. Again we had 9 hours between leaving and our flight. Come to find out it takes HOURS to get to the airport and we end up missing a hotel we now lost money on as well as paying extra for a lounge to avoid heat and the chaos. Other things; - when our room was cleaned we didn’t get new sheets 1 time in 7 days - when our room was cleaned, we never got toilet paper replenished - the bathtub water was YELLOW - went on a sunset dolphin cruise and the boat broke down in the middle of the sea mid cruise - on the last day, our butler said she’d pick us up and didn’t. she sent someone else then said 0 words to us before leaving when everyone else’s butlers were there. Overall, terrible miscommunication by management. The best part of the trip was my husband while celebrating our HONEYMOON, the wait staff was amazingly kind to us and made us feel so welcome and the beauty. Thank god for this. Unfortunately, the bang is not worth the buck, especially for an award winning 5 star resort.

This was the best vacation I ever had, we went for our honeymoon. The overwater villa that we stayed was stunning. The villa was large with plenty of space in the balcony and lots of privacy. The food was great, my favorite spot was the buffet called Matheefaru, the manager there Zafar was super nice, he always made sure to give me a warm welcome, check to make sure the food was good and his little secret is that he is the tea expert there and made my wife some specials teas. Thank you Zafar and your team! Our butler Zareer was also super nice. He gave us a great tour when we arrived, checked on us while we were eating, and was always there for any questions we had via WhatsApp responding usually in seconds. But also want to shout out housekeeping always kept our room tidy and did turn down service. Spa, the two wonderful ladies from Bali were super sweet and great with messages. The Scuba team, I can only remember Carmen’s name but the entire team there was wonderful, we got to see a few manta rays! People cleaning up the road ways and beaches, I always saw them up early making sure everything outside looked nice. The buggy team was also super nice :) But everyone works so well together to make a wonderful experience for the guests. Also if you are wondering about snorkeling, it is great by the Meeru bar, I got to see 2 eagle rays, a turtle, small sharks and tons of fish in just one trip! Thank you again everyone :)

Dear Hideaway. It was our childhood dream to come to the Maldives. We looked uo the reviews before coming. We expected it to be good, even great. But it has been AMAZING. We loved it here. From the nature, to the food, and the staff. We have been lucky enough to see so many of the sealife. So many amazing chisines to try from at the dinners and the kind, helpful and professional stuff. They have thought of all the details theoughout the island to make your stay really a world class experience. We stayed at the water villa which is perfect if you enjoy the sea view all day, every day. It was clean (twice daily if you want) and fresh. Value for money (we were here in May when the off-seaso ln started) is top notch. So many things on such a high level that this is worth it for sure. We had the half board, and it was enough (we eat quite a bit). There is also a decent gym, tennis, table tennis, padel, pool and water activitrs to choose from. We tried a couple, good experience with all. We went on the ultimate sunset dolphine cruise and even though the minimum was 4 people, they did it just for us. And we saw the dolphins as well as (a rare sight) pilot whales. We really appreciate this! Oh, and most of the time we felt we were alone on the island.. on the beach, at the sunsets, etc. Truly hidden away. We absolutely recommend and we will nake sure to return someday…
