We stayed on balmoral drive in davenport, the villa itself is very beautifully laid out. The area is very quiet and we only heard people next door on a couple of occasions. The villa itself, we noticed after a few days that there were thick layers of dirt on some surfaces, especially in the kitchen area. I’m quite tall so could easily see how bad it was on top of the fridge freezer (which is quite low). The laundry facilities were perfect, but they do request that you only use a certain detergent, which is clearly outlined on the machines. Towels etc are whiter than white, the bedding was perfectly cleaned, on the whole the villa was laid out and tidy to perfection. We had two big issues, one was the pool and the other being the air conditioning. You cannot adjust the air conditioner and it is constantly set at 76. To me with this climate, was not cool enough. All the rooms have ceiling fans but they just circulate the heat. The pool is a nice shape and size, but sadly the filter wasn’t working properly. We were told it would come on between the hours of 7am and 7pm, but it wasn’t working for almost four days. It had dead worms, beetles and a layer of dead insects floating on the top. We called the office and were told somebody would come to check it the next day, but they didn’t come. We called again the following day and we were told exactly the same thing, but literally 2 minutes after we ended the call, the filter started working. An hour later, a pool guy came, he was blatantly not happy about coming and was really quite ignorant, he scooped all the bugs off, took a picture of the pool on his phone and just abruptly left. The pool has a light in it, but this wasn’t working, so be mindful of this if you have young children. The villa has a games room which we were going to be charged extra for, should we wish to use it. However, the games room is located in the garage and is easily accessible, so I don’t under stand why anybody would be charged to use something which is clearly free? The kitchen sink has a waste disposal unit in situ, this stopped working on a regular basis. We called the office only to be told it has a reset button on the base of the unit, in the cupboard underneath. There are two inflatable beds for the pool, we aren’t sure whether these were left by previous visitors or belonged to the homeowner, we did damage one so we replaced it straight away. The outside dustbins are collected on a Monday and a Friday, and they have to be taken to the side of the road the night before as they’re collected VERY early! Friday is recycling and Monday is general waste! On your first day staying at the villa, it doesn’t relay this in the properly handbook, but you really need to check there isn’t anything in the outside bins, because visitors tend to fill them and are unable to put them out due to vacating the villa before the Friday or the Monday! Both bins were absolutely full to the brim when we went to put our rubbish out! This villa was charged at around £1300 per person, which I find to be quite expensive considering! It’s not located in an area where you can walk to a local shop/store etc, We have booked to come back to Florida next year but we booked a villa which charges for the villa, not per person.

OK house but luxury villas

We are called the next day and asked if we have arrived and if everything is as it should be. As such, there is nothing to complain about immediately. The house is nicely furnished. It is very worn both in surfaces and all furniture. It could use a good coat of paint and maybe some new beds. (the beds in the master bedroom were nice) The other beds were worn. The sofas were deep in the bad way where you fall deep when you sit down. And it's hard to get back up. We couldn't get the dishwasher to work. It's real practice, they come and try to do it 2 days later. It is then changed to another dishwasher. Not a new one. It really took patience to be lucky enough to turn it on. It was quite an art to get it started. There was no drying rack for the clothes, so we bought one. There was nothing in the house to clean. There was a vacuum cleaner that has seen better days. It was really limited what it could soak up. There was no way to wash the floor. There was a somewhat used diet. There were no cleaning products either, so we bought them ourselves for the toilet, among other things. Not cleaning the toilet for 12 days is pretty disgusting. It would be great if there was what you would need for a bit of simple cleaning, then you can take a few hundred kroner more. We left the cleaners and new drying rack and clamps in the house. As well as misc. Salt / pepper, etc., what you need in the kitchen.

The ocean beds experience

Iv just returned form highlands reserve davenport Florida a place Iv been going for 15 years and love it , however Iv just had the misfortune of booking through ocean Florida (ocean beds) first of all we arrived after 14 hours on the road to have been issued the wrong key code for entry to the imaginary executive villa after three attempts by there office we get the right code , then the fun begins the place was dirty , the dishwasher washer doesn’t work , the furniture is chipped scratched , sofa burst , the tv s have fuzzy pictures you can’t watch , the pool furniture is broken and dangerous, the screens all round the pool are stinking and overgrown, I would go as far ast to say when we opened the door to go in the rodents escaped their prison. Not so luxury villas

Stayed in a vacation villa on Montara in the four corners estate, the villa was sold to us with very nice pictures and reviews, not so when we arrived. This villa was specifically picked out by us when booking, and looked amazing, the reality was different. We had a simple broken toilet issue, that seemed to become a difficult thing for the local maintenance to not only repair, but to understand also. The local ocean beds office are not good at getting back to you in a hurry. The state of the villa also left a lot to be desired, with lots of water damaged ceilings throughout the house. A more serious note is how flimsy the so called locks on both patio doors were, it was a simlpe U bolt that you lifted to open and dropped back down to lock. After trying to deal with ocean beds both in Orlando, and back in the UK, I would not use them again.

Non existent in-resort service from Ocean Beds

We booked a 20 sleeper villa in Lelani Circle, Davenport near Orlando Florida for a 2 week, large family group vacation. This was booked with Ocean Beds through a UK travel agent. Right from the start the flow of information was poor. With such a large party there were simple questions about facilities and equipment at the villa that they could not answer. As advertised I was expecting to receive final information on the villa 2 weeks before arrival, such as exact location and access codes but nothing. I contacted them direct but they refused to talk to me saying I had to go through my UK agent which I did but even they could not get the info and I only received it the day before departure and that was after a great deal of badgering! When we arrived the villa looked lovely but it was clear that it was not ideal for 20 and fortunately there were only 18 of us. (We wanted a little extra space hence booking a 20 sleeper). There was no information on the villa, complex or area and in particular no inventory to check what should have been in the villa which we have always had before. There were a few minor marks on carpets and a couple of broken items but the stand out thing was not enough towels, even for 18! I contacted the 'Ocean Beds in resort team' by email and tried by phone from the resort office but nothing. Eventually I received and email to say they had tried to contact me, that was simply not true! I asked for more towels and when they would be exchanged, the only answer I received was that there was no exchange and that we would have to wash them. Never had that before either. Anyway to cut a long story short we received no assistance what so ever during our stay. The towels we were short never appeared, they never got exchanged and we never saw anyone from start to finish! To advertise the place we stated in as 'Executive' would in UK and Europe be in breach of the consumer act, as there was nothing executive about the villa or, in particular, the service from 'Ocean Beds'. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy and certainly all never use them again myself.
