Warm Hospitality with a Few Bumps

Our first visit to Bimini was made truly special thanks to several standout staff members at Bimini World Resort. Phillopia (night front desk) was gracious and kind, going above and beyond to extend our stay. Ira and Sean at the lobby bar were a dynamic duo—friendly, charismatic, and made every guest feel special. Trey at the pool deck kept spirits high despite our five-hour wait for a room, and Benjamin (bellboy) was attentive and kind. The young woman who checked us in stayed pleasant under pressure and personally found us when our room was ready. A few staff fell short—rude service from the poolside bartender, a dismissive front desk clerk, and an unfriendly coffee line attendant who was also sick. Overall, the positives far outweighed the negatives. We left happy, feeling welcomed, and would gladly return.

This hotel has gone to the dumps. So many MAJOR issues.

We checked into the hotel with no problems, other than unpleasant front desk help, but we did get the room category that we reserved. Upon going to the room, we unpacked, then laid down to relax by watching television. The TV didn’t work at all. We are patient people, so we called the front desk and they promised a tech would come by. After five calls during a two-day period, the tech finally came, but he couldn’t fix it. Disappointedly, he promised to return and ghosted us. He never returned. We reserved a room with two beds for four adult family members. That we did receive. Nevertheless, we quickly discovered that there would be NO privacy. - There was NO BATHROOM DOOR WHATSOEVER. My wife took pictures of it. We later found that the bathrooms rooms have glass doors. All we had were the door tracks with NO BATHROOM DOOR. To top off the unpleasant lack of privacy, there was a door on the toilet room, but it was clear see-through glass. Yes, no privacy on the commode. YIKES!!! We had to put a suitcase in the hall to the bathroom to warn the others that someone was going potty and would be exposed. - So many things were inoperable in the room, but to top it off, the room was dirty. The slats to the shower window didn’t close completely (it opened to the bedroom) so we had to refrain from looking that way when someone was showering. - Finally, we could smell a terrible sewer odor. The hot water never became hot, and the a/c thermostat didn’t work properly. Need I go on? We requested another room, and received one. This room fortunately had the door to the bathroom, plus a frosted glass door. We thought GREAT! Not great. The safe didn’t work. It had a S4 code that we later learned indicated service needed. This isn’t “seemingly” a problem, except that would anybody leave cash, jewelry, passports, iPads, iPhones, and other valuables unsecured in a Bahamas hotel room? Not hardly. We had to carry all these valuables everywhere we went since we had no safe. That meant thousands of $ of valuables to the beach, on the water, to local restaurants, etc etc. I called the front desk twice and was told security repairs the safes, and they said someone would be enroute. They never came. Finally I walked the halls and found a security person with a laptop, BIANCO or BIANCA. She said she would come to fix it, and did arrive. She spent 30 minutes toying with the safe with a puzzled look and she couldn’t fix it. Come on, a standard room safe is not a complex item. She then raised her hands and stated “I give up…I will send big Papa, who is the expert, I have to go home”. She told us to wait in the room, which we did all evening and Papa will be immediately coming. As we expected, Big Papa never showed up. This second room was dirtier than the first if that is possible. Our feet were blackened from the floor after we showered and we had to wear shoes inside the room, even putting them on to go to the bathroom at night. On the positive side, the lobby looked nice. The Tides restaurant had a good $30. breakfast buffet with many options, but they add an automatic $6.00 tip pp AND VAT. We asked the served if he received the tips and he nervously looked around before he answered, saying the waitstaff doesn’t. If that is indeed true, that’s unconscionable. We would not stay here ever again even if the room was free!

This is a disappointing hotel

One problem after another. First at the marina, dock, the dock master physically directed us to park in a spot. We were tied up and leaving when another boat came up and the dock-master told us to move across the lane. Not a big deal, but a hassle. The room was a disaster. We were four family members to a room. The bathroom is visible to the rest of the room with a see-thru glass door. Completely see thru. I didn’t mind, but my wife was alarmed. The TV wasn’t working and the tech came up five times and then didn’t return. We had to call the desk multiple times. It still doesn’t work. 25 lb of ice for $25.00 We had in writing that our golf cart would cost $100. It was over $300. We had GREAT family time, but the room was a disaster. The toilet was broken, as was the door. See pics.

Terrible, police and militia were called two nights in a row. Dock master is never here, security is a liar.

If I could give this place less than 1 star I definitely would. Had the most terrible experience here, the dock people here are terrible. Fire all of them, we are from America were things are mostly law abiding and structured. As an American if you are a boat owner, do not come to this place. Do not buy a space at their docks, we were lied to for two straight days by the security and management till we complained heavily and began to become extremely angry with management and its services. The Dock master is never there at whatever hour you ask, We payed for an expensive lot in the marina to park our boat, just for security to sell the spot to somebody else for extra cash and then lie to us that they didn’t know where the person or who the person was when we tried to get them to move. They do this to get extra money but they messed with the wrong people this time. It took us calling the police and even as far as calling the MILITIA, TWO nights in a row, we’ve been to this hotel over all 3 times and all 3 times this has happened where someone has stolen our dock (has been unlawfully sold our dock by security or the dock master). Today the boat owner who was parked in ours mistakenly; very nice person, he’s a doctor, said to us and the militia that he was told by the security to park there. When we asked the security previously to the militia coming, he said he didn’t know anything, that he didn’t control anything, and that he didn’t know where the boat owners were (we asked so that we could just swap and prevent further problems). The further problem was the security flipping us off and telling us “F**k you” which completely escalated the situation because then everyone began to scream cuss words at each other in front of guests outside. The guests outside saw everything as well. Which is actually so funny, because when the militia came and told him to find the owner of the boat, he found them within 10 minutes. Good to know that liars and money laundering schemers work under your company. This is utterly ridiculous, im never recommending this hotel to anyone, and I’m incredibly dissatisfied ( this is an understatement) and I am going out of my way to write a review on every website because of this. Thank you all and especially the dock master who is literally never here, for ruining our vacation. And the lying security works on Saturday's past 8pm. I don’t know if your management is aware of this, but they are reselling the docks while the boat owners take their boat out. When they come back their spot is literally taken which is RIDICULOUS for a service that is PAYED.
