We stayed the 2nd week in August and travelled with BA Holidays. We booked a Family room, which was 2 normal rooms with interconnecting doors. This was perfect as the teenagers could have their own room /bathroom / door / independence but great as it was guaranteed interconnecting to our room. It was actually very soundproof, we couldn’t hear anything through the door at all! Rooms were clean, modern and with fantastic air con. We had a “city view”, but we could still see the sea/beach from our balcony (see photos). The maid service was a bit hit and miss - towels were not replaced, water wasn’t filled up, service was at random times of day, but a quick call to housekeeping and they’d come immediately so this was fine. They also have a pillow menu if you ask for it, and you can get memory foam pillows which was amazing. We had breakfast every day in the main buffet Mowsem. The selection is really good and excellent quality, and you can order soya/oat milk lattes / cappuccinos to be made for you. It was nice and quiet between 7-8.30am. We had half board so we tried lots of the other restaurants for lunch and dinner. Lots of them provide a half board set menu, I would say if you have huge appetites and want to eat 3 courses this is ideal. Otherwise, you can choose to eat off the main menu for 150aed credit per person and we found this to be more than enough for a starter/main & perhaps an extra side or 2. We started off by doing the set menus but by end of week we were using the credits, as the portions are so big! Our favourite restaurants were Trader Vics and Jones the Grocer. Drinks are London prices. We visited in August so of course it was really hot and we didn’t sit by the pool all day, usually just in the morning. We would go out at 8-9am and all the sunbeds by the pool would be reserved but there would be loads of cabanas and sun loungers available on the terrace above the pool which was good for us! The cabanas have excellent shade. We loved that the pool water was chilled! It was so refreshing in the August heat. The only thing is they have an adults end to the pool and a family end - but families just ignored this and played ball games in the adults end. I think the hotel should do more to police this, and also try to stop the reserving of sun loungers by people who aren’t sitting there. The beach was empty, I think it was too hot for people to sit down there. We took jet skis from the hotel beach one afternoon, it was about £150 for half a hour for 2 people I think. You must go to Aura Skypool, it was the best thing we did and it’s really close to the hotel, 5 min in a cab. 10 min up to Atlantis in a cab for the waterpark. 15 min to Mall of the Emirates. So the hotel is really well located. We used uber all the time from the hotel to various places around the city and it was cheap and the taxis always arrived within a minute or 2. The girls also used the local food delivery app Talabat and food came to reception just fine / relatively quickly. I’d definitely Come back to this hotel, we had a wonderful stay and couldn’t fault it bar the couple of niggles around the pool. 5*
