My first time to Bali and having read traffic horror stories, I wanted to be near the airport for our last night before our morning flight. This hotel was perfectly located for that. It started off a little rough. The check in clerk did not record spouses name on registration (which is usually required in Asia and both other Bali hotels did so). When we got to the room, the air conditioner was off so VERY hot. We had no hand towels and we called, they brought ONE. I guess they are in short supply. We decided to leave to let the room cool down as we had a long taxi ride from our prior hotel in a car without the greatest air conditioning. Downstairs, the restaurant is unfortunately open air with no breeze, so again very hot. We hopped a grab to the nearby Holiday Inn Resort for dinner so we could at least get the ocean breeze and that was nice. By the time we got back, the room was cool and the bed was quite comfortable. We had a room overlooking the lovely pool, which is the nicest pool I have ever seen at any airport property. We did not use the pool as we arrived later and were up and out early. The next morning, frustration continued. I had not noticed but in our bathroom the three bottles were hand wash, body wash and conditioner. No shampoo! That is really unacceptable. Housekeeping should be trained to at least know what those words look like even if they can't actually read it. Breakfast was fair, not great. It appears to be a halal kitchen maybe, because no pork bacon. Only beef bacon which was not good. Overall, to be an American brand, it is not overly westernized. I'm all about experiencing the local culture when I go out in the daytime, but I tend to stay at American brands abroad because I want those comforts and familiarities. Overall, if I was back in Bali and needed to be at the airport early, I would consider it. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and seemed to be doing their best. I did get the feeling that overall it was a bit understaffed.
