Holiday Inn Kandooma Maldives

Had an amazing SnapHoliday experience at Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, staying in the Beach House with Sea View. The layout was perfect — the bedroom and living space were on the first floor, offering a stunning view from the balcony, while the ground floor had a cozy sunbed area that was ideal for relaxing by the beach. I booked the full board package, which gave me plenty of dining options at the main restaurant. One evening, I opted for dinner at The Kitchen Restaurant (à la carte) — the food and ambiance were both excellent. Special thanks to Chamika and Naveen for the warm and informative orientation. I also had the pleasure of meeting Dimu, who was super friendly and helped to organize a bicycle tour around the island. And a gazillion thanks to Chamika for going above and beyond to make this vacation truly unforgettable. 🙌

I am a mad keen surfer, my wife loves diving, I like quite times, my wife loves been social, we both love a bit of barefoot luxury! We have travelled several times throughout Indo, Samoa, Fiji and Maldives searching for the perfect destination that ticks all our boxes. We found it in Kandooma!! Perfect waves with a great deal of variety and the most accessible break ever with Kandooma rights literally at your doorstep. The diving and snorkeling is amazing, and their was an epic gym and spa!! The Island itself allowed you to be social around the pool and at organised events but also allowed you to slip away and find your own stretch of beach for some quiet time. The staff were all first class (shout out to the Perfect Wave crew, Barnaby, Steve, Jinoo) and to be honest the mature demographic it attracts makes for just the perfect warm, inviting and happy atmosphere wherever you go on the island. All we can say is that for our needs, wants and budgets ... Kandooma is simply perfect!!

Kandooma is our little paradise. We’ve come back multiple times now and honestly, each visit is even better than the last. It’s rare to find a place that grows with such heart, not only in service or luxury, but in soul. It’s hard to know where to begin because everything is just spot on. For surfers, and surfer families it’s heaven. The Perfect Wave surf team makes it seamless. The wave right in front of the island is as good as it gets. And one can see the surfers from the villa directly. Consistent, clean, just pure joy. The trip to Quarters is also worth it, especially when you want a bit of variation. And honestly, surfing with Steve and with Perfect Wave is a big reason why this place feels like home. They are grounded, funny, smart, and have that rare gift of making everyone feel safe and welcomed, no matter your level. Courtney also happens to be the best yoga teacher I’ve ever had. I don’t say that lightly. Her sessions are so thoughtfully structured. She creates a space that feels calm, connected, and present. You come out of class feeling stronger and softer at the same time. I highly recommend the sub-yoga, which is yoga on a board on the water. It’s so hard and so fun. Pretty much everyone falls in at least once, which turns into a refreshing swim and a shared laugh. It’s addictive in the best way. Marine life here is wild. Turtles, baby sharks, stingrays, all kinds of tropical fish just while snorkeling off the beach. No boat needed. Just walk from your villa into the sea. If you go diving, you’ll see even more. The reefs are stunning. It’s hands down one of the best dive locations on the planet. The water is warm, visibility is perfect, and the underwater world is unreal. The staff across the whole resort is exceptional. Friendly, warm, always smiling. Not in a forced way, but in a way that actually makes you feel like they’re happy to see you. There’s real kindness here. Mintu, who cleaned our room, left beautiful flower decorations on the bed and was always so sweet. These little touches stay with you. Food-wise, the island has you fully covered. The Kitchen is the main restaurant and the most refined. They serve mostly asian cuisine and the Vietnamese chef there is doing a fantastic job. Everything is so flavourful, balanced, and elegant. They also host Seafood Night there once a month, which is an absolute must. It’s all you can eat, and the quality is just incredible. Sushi, crabs, fresh fish, foie gras—nothing is missing. It’s a true feast. And there’s such a fun atmosphere when the surfers’ table fills up. Twenty people around one long table, all sharing stories, laughing, and instantly bonding. It’s a vibe you can’t fake. Just good people, good food, and that soft ocean breeze in the background. The beaches are soft, like powdered sugar. The island itself is getting greener every time we come. Beautiful Orchids are growing up the trees now, they’re restoring the mangroves, planting more shade trees, adding love in all the right places. You can feel that the general management truly cares. This isn’t just a business. They are shaping something that’s alive and full of soul. It shows. In the plants. In the sea. In the people. In the smiles of the guests. We are already looking forward to coming back. This place is magic.

Very good property. Friendly service. Efficient teams from the front desk to housekeeping, activity desk etc. The spread in the restaurant was fabulous.
