We recently stayed here for 14 nights as a family of 2A and 2C. I booked directly through the resort and signed up as an IHG member so received 20% off food and beverages and spa treatments at their spa, Tea Tree. We also had free airport transfers, although when we landed in DPS they didn't have us on their list so I would re confirm this a couple of days out if booking this as it was painful waiting outside the airport in the middle of the night with kids. When we arrived late at night they had not booked us a ground room as requested but said we could move the next day, which was annoying but we just wanted to get to a room. We had a king size bed and a rolloway (free). We decided the room was too small for 14 days though so we upgraded in the morning to a larger room with the same bedding set up but on a corner, so the room, bathroom and balcony were larger. The grounds at the Holiday Inn are beautiful and well kept by an army of gardeners quickly sweeping up any dropped frangipani flowers throughout the day. The big grassed area is great for the kids to run around on and they have a playground too. They hosted a few events while we were there but I didn't find the noise to be an issue and we actually enjoyed seeing how they set up such elaborate events in such a short amount of time. There are two pool areas, one is the kids pool which is great for toddler aged kids and then the larger pool which is quite deep. There's not really a lot to do in the pools (no slides) so bring lots of pool toys or a nanny (they bring toys with them - water balloons etc). The resort puts on a foam party twice a week which my kids loved. They also put on a Kidtastic event on Friday afternoons which was lots of fun and games for the kids. There are heaps of sun loungers and cabanas around the pools too. The kids club was large and air conditioned and they had some activities (extra charge each day) and some on a schedule each day (free) but I'm not certain that they always did them. There's not a lot of supervision in the kids club. The ladies seem to stay behind the desk at the front and don't interact with the kids unless you pay for an activity that they have to set up. This was ok for us as our kids only went in with us or a nanny but for others just know that once they are in they are down the back of the kids club with other kids and no one watching. I used the Tea Tree spa for a massage once during our stay but after that I couldn't get a booking as they were always full, so I recommend booking a few days or more before you would like the appointment. The massage was great. The resort has a Kids Eat Free promotion, but this is only at their Palms restaurant, unfortunately my kids didn't like anything on the kids menu there but they are fussy eaters. We enjoyed lunch there one day and thought the food was great (mostly Asian and Indian). Envy (their other restaurant) does have a kids eat free one night a week too and their menu was more suited to my kids tastes. We ate there a few times and always had great meals. Their desserts are amazing too! Breakfast was at Palms every morning which was great, they cooked eggs to order when you arrived. It gets really busy though so we tried to get down there as early as possible. If you ask for iced tea or iced coffee they'll make it and bring it to the table too. I took my own Vegemite and lucky I did as the kids started to just want toast by the end of the trip. There's also a little cafe type place in the resort Flavaz, where you can get coffees and kids can get ice cream, I think our kids had an ice cream here every day. The room was great and the housekeeping staff were amazing. Our room was spotless every day, much cleaner than at other five star resorts in Bali. All the staff at the resort were super friendly and helpful, Sugitha at the pool was always checking in with everyone and Ririn at breakfast remembered our room number and order and nothing was ever a problem. They're all so friendly and lovely. I remembered a post I saw saying to use the back street to get to Lippo Mall and so glad I did. It's a short walk and the back road is much more shaded and less busy, just watch out for the dog poo, especially at night. There's a great warung on the way called Gala More that we went to a couple of times, you can book through whatsapp or otherwise go early for dinner as they get busy. Another place on that road is Juice House, you can also contact her via whatsapp and she delivered the most amazing smoothie bowls to the security checkpoint at the HI for us. Both on Jl. Samudra. If you walk out from the HI and down the main street to Lippo Mall turning right at the big statue, there is a warung called PacMan just at the statue (Jl. Wana Segara) it doesn't look like much but we had some great chinese food there. Also on this road are lots of little mini marts and massage places. Discovery Mall is also a taxi ride away (or walk without kids) and it's huge and has a massive amount of shops and places to eat (and Happy Time play centre). At Lippo Mall there is a supermarket on the bottom floor and a Guardian pharmacy where you can get almost anything. There is also a soft play next door that's never busy, we went on a cooler day as it seemed humid down there and it was fine. I actually preferred this one to Happy Time at Discovery Mall as it wasn't as loud and had lots of different things to do other than just the timezone type games. It's easy to get to the other restaurants further into Kuta, Ginger by Temple Moon was great and so was Dolce Vita although super busy so make sure to book. They are all a taxi ride away with little kids though and the traffic is bad so there is a fair bit of waiting around and sitting in cars with only a few options walking distance. All in all the resort was great but for us, I think 14 days in the same place was a bit long. Next time we'd split it up and explore a different place or we wouldn't stay as long.
