Hotel Biwa Tulum

Lovely hotel and cafe next door, and all the staff at both were so helpful. Our king room was spacious and very comfortable, clean and good value. Our room faced the street so it was a little noisy at night but not a problem. We got the breakfast package. There were many choices at Cafe Tomas and the breakfasts were huge. We went back for a lunch which was also great. We discovered near by great restaurants for dinner. The location in Tulum Centro was far from the beach and more touristy areas, but we took the local "collectivos" to get around. They were, cheap, comfortable and easy.

Now our 1st choice hotel in Tulum

We have been to Tulum several times but this was the first time staying here (5 nights) . We will definitely be back. Stayed in the spacious Jr Suite that has a kitchen and larger fridge which worked for us perfectly. Room modern and super clean. Staff very nice and welcoming. Never used the pool as there was an unusual cold front during our stay but looked very clean. The roof top seems like a nice place to hang out in the sun if we had time but we were out most of the day . The only thing to be aware of is you are situated right in the busy central area of the downtown tulum which comes with street noise and dogs barking so if you are an early to bed sleeper might be an issue for some . A couple nights I put on some sleep sounds on my phone or ear plugs which did the trick , but never had poor sleep ( comfy beds ).

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Biwa. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff were great, very helpful and answered all our questions before we arrived really quickly. Great location for restaurants and bars of Tulum. Pool was good, and breakfast at the next door cafe was fantastic. Hotel is a few km from the beach and local in taxis are very expensive. We used the collectivo (local bus) which was cheap and reliable to get around. I would recommend Biwa to families looking for a base in Tulum.

This is the best downtown hotel in Tulum. Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are excellently maintained. Great central location. Desk staff knowledgeable of the local area and very helpful. Would highly recommend staying at the Biwa. *****
