Great place to stay!

We stayed here after our flight was canceled and I was happy with the experience. The whole place was clean. The views were amazing. Service was friendly and professional! Shuttle to airport was on time. Check in and check out was fast and easy process! Food was great. Would come here again!

Convenient & Comfortable Stay

My husband and I recently stayed at Hotel Grand A View in Montego Bay, I believe this was our 4th time, and it is a great choice for a short visit. Marsha is fantastic at the front desk, always with a smile and very accomodating. While the location isn’t the most scenic, or in the best location, it’s perfect for a night or two, especially since it’s just minutes from the airport—super convenient for travelers. Since we found this hidden gem, we like to stay one or two nights after our vacation stay in Negril, just to be close to the airport should we have any delays or cancellations which is how we first ended up at Grand A View. Rooms & Comfort Our room had a beautiful ocean view and was modern, clean, and well-appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Housekeeping did an excellent job maintaining the space, and the overall ambiance was fresh and inviting. Dining & Service Breakfast is complimentary, which is a nice perk, but the selection was limited. However, the coffee was excellent! The on-site restaurant offers additional dining options, and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly, professional, and always eager to help. Overall Experience If you're looking for a clean, modern, and comfortable stay near the airport, Hotel Grand A View is a great option. While it may not be in the heart of the action, the ocean view room, great service, and convenience make it an excellent choice for a short stay. I would definitely stay here again for a quick stopover in Montego Bay!

Do NOT STAY HERE - terrible hotel

If you have the opportunity to stay here, or another hotel (or Airbnb), suggest booking somewhere else. Dated rooms, very low quality, inconvenient location, and most importantly, staff who have some serious attitude (and does a real disservice to the owners - she even challenged me to leave a negative review saying she couldn’t care less about what the owners think - very unfair to have staff like this working with no care for customers or the owner). I REPEAT - IF YOU GET THE CHANCE TO STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE, PLEASE DO. It’s a hotel that really lacks a philosophy of abundance. Charged extra for a toddler to stay without giving anything extra (towels, bed, etc), won’t give a sick baby a cup of milk without charging, won’t even give antiseptic wipes from first aid. Even breakfast is limited (you are greeted with “this is not all you can eat so choose carefully”. Super rude staff with a huge amount of attitude and the opposite of a “can do” spirit. On a positive, we stayed here 1 night to be close to the airport, and this indeed it is. Edit: our exit from this hotel was better than entry and stay. Some of the staff were great and demonstrated a normal level of service, respect and kindness. Rest of the review remains. Edit 2: to be clear, there is nothing in the booking terms via Agoda (where we booked for 2 adults and 2 children stating exact ages) which suggested there would be extra charges. These guys are so dodgy at every corner. I was very close to calling the police at the way they were treating me and my sick child. Please do not stay here if you want to have a good time in Montego Bay. I even asked for a cup of milk for my sick child when shops were closed at the receptionist couldn’t be bothered to help us and then charged us for that too. Two of the four front staff are really horrible and could not care about customer satisfaction. Location is terrible - hard to get to, not centrally located. Very dark and dangerous area. Pool dirty and smells of chemicals. Very loud as on a main road so hard to sleep and lots of noises of trucks through the day and evening

Not Worth the Money!!

On Tuesday, December 3rd, I booked a one night's stay reservation at Hotel Grand A View; checking in December 5th to the 6th. One of the main reasons why I had booked this hotel was to have a hotel shuttle to and from the airport and a complimentary breakfast. Unfortunately, on Thursday, December 5th when i arrive in MBJ one of my bags did not arrived on my flight, so because I had to wait for the next flight arrival which my bag would be coming on I called the hotel to check their next shuttle pickup. To my dismay, the hotel informed me that they do not do not provide shuttle service on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Now, prior to my arrival on the night that I booked my reservation. I called Jamaica directly after booking my reservation through Chase Travel to arrange my hotel pick up that night. I called directly, and I informed them that I was coming in on Thursday. The person who answered the phone at the front desk took my name and gave me the pickup Times and knew that I was coming in on Thursday. However, to the contrary, on Thursday, when I called for my pick up at the hotel or when was the next shuttle, they informed me they do not do shuttles on Tuesdays on Thursdays. The next day, i checked out at the front desk at 945 for a hotel shuttle scheduled 1050 departure, but the shuttle did not arrive until 11:25 even though it was approximately 10 minutes ride. Breakfast was horrible, boiled dumplings, fried dumplings, toast, stew chicken (chicken seem to be those imported hormone injected tough chicken from the US), stew beans and powered eggs. The fruits papaya and watermelon was spoiled. The servers, however, in the restaurant and bar were kind and polite. The sheets were thin, it took 90 minutes, and 2 requests to get 2 thin blankets delivered to the room. The gym had no ventilation, was very hot, the thread mills did not work. Despite the beautiful view, I would not recommend it or would be returning to this hotel. I have attached a copy of their posted daily shuttle scheduled. When I pointed the discrepancy to the receptionist, she indicated that off season (which I thought December is high season) they don't provide regular shuttleservice. I told her they were advertising misinformation and realized my only resolution was to write this review so others are informed.

I arrived late from the airport. Unfriendly front desk and I had to leave a security deposit of USD100 (!) for incidentals. Now I read in previous reviews that they try to blame people for existing damage, so I took several pictures of damage in my room as soon as I got there: Curtains did not close and there was a terrace right outside my room, stains on all soft furnishings and on several walls, broken cupboard under the TV. There was no hairdryer in the room and the bedding consisted of only 1 thin sheet. Breakfast was a sad fare with only about 6 things on offer, mostly fried food. No fruit. Upon check-out I mentioned the faults in my room and then had to wait to get my deposit back after somebody went to check the room first. I mean, what kind of practice is this? Do they think I trashed the room in the barely 10 hours I stayed there? I have never seen something like this. Of course I eventually got my money back.
