Hotel LIVVO Los Calderones

Great hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast. On arrival you’re offered a glass of bubbly. Nice pool and sun beds. Beautifully decorated outside areas with lots and lots of plants and Bonsai trees. Suites really comfy, shower very powerful. Towels changed daily if you wish. One downside, hotel is a five minute taxi ride to town/beach which we didn’t realise, however, the taxi is only 5 euros so cheap! Hotel provides shuttle bus to beach daily. You could walk to town but I think it would take about 30 minutes on a main road Front of house staff very helpful. We got a private taxi back to airport as coach wanted to pic us up 5 hrs before flight departed! Cost €50 takes 1/2 hr. Would go again as nice chilled time.

I recently booked a seven-day stay at Hotel LIVVO, Los Calderones. My experience was way beyond my expectations. This is an extremely well-run hotel and I have many reasons for making that statement. Firstly, without exception, I found all staff to be genuinely warm and professional. This included: reception, maintenance, cleaning, and waiting-on staff – I have probably left out a staff group but this is not my intention. My apartment was exceptionally clean, comfortable and fairly spacious. The pool areas were clean and very well maintained. The choice at breakfast was extensive and very well presented. On a couple of occasions, I ate dinner in the restaurant which was also of a very high standard. The onsite gym was quite well equipped and also well maintained. There is a small shop in the reception area which is open 24-hours a day. This was ideal for purchasing water, snacks etc The hotel is situated close to a taxi rank; however, Faro lighthouse is a pleasant 25-minute walk away. Similarly, Playa de Ingles is about a 40-minute walk away. I am most impressed by the customer care, facilities and standard of the hotel and I shall book an autumn break there this year. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hotel to other potential guests; I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Really Great little find! Would return!

Wow we arrived at this hotel and had an amazing welcome from the receptionist! It was ten out of ten! Welcoming, informative and an absolute lovely and welcoming lady! (French lady). We stayed here for a week on half board. We read reviews about the food and on every night we can say that it was all amazing! The food was lovely and there was a variety to suit everyone! Salads and main courses as well as meat or fish that was cooked to order! No complaints about the food! The rooms are set over two floors. The entrance is on the ground floor with a reception area/ TV with a small fridge and kettle area! Then there are steep stairs leading to the bedroom and bathroom with the only sink, to fill the kettle with! The beds were large and comfortable! No complaints. Negatives - housekeeping was poor! Shower gels not replenished and toilet paper left in the lounge instead of in the bathroom! Chefs in the restaurant - one chap made me Feel uncomfortable to ask for an omelette! He needs to attend a customer service course! But this is one individuals! The towels were bordering as rags! The hotel needs to replenish the towels with large fluffy towels! The hotel offers a shuttle service! Which is used by several other hotels within the chain! It only goes to one location! And picks up from the same drop off! It was okay!! The location of the hotel limits to where you can walk to. We found a local Mercona supermarket which was about a 15 min walk from the hotel! Definitely worth showing away from the hotel! This hotel charges for everything! Milks and coffee… please see attached photo! A bit of a con. This is my second visit to Gran Canaria this year and chose this hotel as the original hotel wasn’t available! I would like to express my thanks to everyone in making my anniversary special. Lovely hotel. Photos do it justice, staff are very friendly and helpful, remember your drinks order at the bar. Breakfast has a good variety of hot, continental, cereals, gluten free. Aircon was not great in our bedroom and we opened windows instead, this was okay because we visited in March. The beds are much too hard. The mattress was sprung and felt quite old. We woke up with bad backs most days. We spoke to other couples who agreed. Location is okay if you don’t mind walking, nearest supermarket is only 5 minute walk but if you want to go down to the seafront for dinner it’s around 25 minute walk up hill. We don’t mind walking so it was okay but for others it might be too far.
