Our second visit to Xcaret Arte was excellent. We flew in early in the morning, so our room was not ready when we checked in. The check in was fast and efficient. They offered us a 25% discount to upgrade to the Artista building and we of course agreed. We changed into our swimming gear and began our vacation while the room was being prepared. The resort was pretty crowded, but there were always lounges by the pools and the rooftops. To get a set of lounge chairs on the beach, we had to get there at about 9 AM. The beach is small but very swimmable and there was hardly any seaweed during our visit in August. The water was perfectly warm. We found the service on the beach to be great. We absolutely loved the food in the following restaurants: Fuego (Xcaret Mexico), Tah Xido, Encanta, Chino Poblano. Our least favorite meals were in Kibi Kibi, Appachoa and Mercado. Having stated this, the service in every place was excellent. We also got to take a boat from the Xcaret Mexico side to and from the Xcaret Park and the experience was absolutely amazing. We loved visiting the newly opened Xcaret Mexico II hotel (just a few minutes walk from Arte). We were amazed by the architecture of the new hotel, the additional tunnels and especially the underground wet bar and the cenote pool. We have been to Mexico about thirty times and visited several dozens of different hotels, but we have never seen anything that was close to the uniqueness of the Xcaret Hotels property. We spent hours walking the tunnels, exploring the cenotes, swimming in the river and lounging on the hammocks inside the caves. This resort is made and designed for people who love nature. Our only regret is not selecting the river jump suit ( we will definitely do so the next time). After our five days stay in the Arte, we moved to the boutique resort next door (the review for La Casa De La Playa will be posted later).
