If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to stay in a resort that predates modern civilization, Hula Hula might be your answer. The place feels so old that even Neanderthals might walk in and say, “This looks familiar.” The rooms are a fascinating blend of “recently added gadget” and “this has been here since the Stone Age.” A few amenities try their best to look modern, but the overall room proudly screams dated. Maintenance appears to be on permanent vacation. The bathroom didn’t have a rack to keep toiletries. Instead, there are two holes in the wall suggesting that a rack once existed, perhaps in a happier era, before mysteriously disappearing. Clearly no one thought replacing it was worth the effort. The shower drainage deserves special recognition. Once you take a shower, the water simply refuses to leave. It just sits there like it’s enjoying the resort more than you are. Expect to wait 30 minutes or so before the shower area decides to drain. Drinking water at night? That’s an adventure. If you get thirsty late night, you’ll discover that housekeeping has vanished into another dimension. No help, no response. For a 4-star hotel, this level of service is honestly baffling. And then comes the hospitality part. If you are Indian, be prepared for a noticeably rude reception. It’s disappointing to see this kind of attitude in a hospitality business that is supposed to welcome guests from everywhere. Krabi has plenty of wonderful places to stay. If you value good service, well-maintained rooms, and basic courtesy, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. And if you’re Indian… honestly, save yourself the trouble and skip this place entirely.
