I'll try to write this as concisely as I can - as don't want to write paragraphs of waffle! I write this having been home for a few days with an intense feeling of holiday blues. Me and my wife both agree this is by far the best holiday we've had with our five year old thus far. People may read the reviews and may be put off by slight gripes by overly critical people - but the hotel, the staff, the facilities and the area itself resulted in the perfect family holiday for us. Room: Spacious, cleaned thoroughly every day, perfectly operating air con system. We were lucky our room was positioned immideatiely adjacent to the cold water statoins, which are located on every floor. But the rooms are great. Staff: The staff are a HUGE credit to the hotel. Every single member of staff we encountered, whether it be cleaners, bar staff, of maintenance staff - always greeted us with a smile, and a cordial greeting. Anything we needed at all, they literally could not bend over backwards enough. Special shout out to two receptionists Melanie (pictured on the attached photograph with my son), and there was another lady with glasses but I didn't take her name - who were amazing. So so welcoming every time we entered the hotel, and were great with my little one - always asking how his day was, even racing him at one point across the lobby! Facilities: Fantastic. A superb very well equipped gym - with treadmills, rowing machines, freeweights, and a whole host of other machinery. There is a good sized arcade for children. Both the snack bar and main dining room are very spacious and equipped. There is a special Kids Club area (will discuss this in more depth later). There are two main bars which were also well staffed and the alcohol is proper branded stuff. We never stayed in for entertainment but there is a Kids Mini Disco before the main entertainment starts. Pools: Two good sized pools with an accompanying pool bar, a smaller baby pool with smaller slides for the younger ones, and a special larger kids pool with varying slides. There were some bigger ones for the older kids, and smaller for the younger ones. This is where my little one spent most of his time. It's a hive of activity with seating around the pool to allow adults to relax whilst their children play. This was a great place for kids to socialise together and make playmates, and for adults to have a chin wag as well! All pools are a very short walking distance away from each other so it doesn't really matter where you set up camp. Kids Club: This was our first holiday that our little one was of age to be left alone in a kids club and my wife was a little worried - she needn't have been at all though. There is a fully electronic 'booking in - booking out' system - so your child can not be released unless a unique QR Code is presented. The activites were always fun and interactive, and sessions were held in the afternoon as well as the morning - which gave us a welcomed break. The staff were AMAZING. My little one became very fond of them due to their friendliness and engagement with the kids, and their professionalism with the adults with any questions. Surrounding Areas: The hotel is nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle of nightlife, although bars restaurants etc are only a short walk away in all directions. We ventured out a nights for a couple of drinks and dinner, and there was plenty of choice. I would recommend Scallywags, which is extremely accommodating for kids also. Also a walk down to Las Americas is only 30 minutes, on which you will pass several more bars and restaurants before hitting the main strip of shops and other eateries. Very occasionally you could here shouts of people returning home from their nights in the early hours, but this was brief and not problematic. There are beaches within walking distance of the hotel. We would highly recommend the Monkey Park which is only 10/15 minutes away in a taxi. It will take you an hour to get round and look at the animals - and we recommend you go *first thing* before the hustle and bustle of people arrive - but it got us out of the hotel and our little one loved it. Cons: The only con is the amount of time the lifts take when the button is pressed. But if that's the only criticism I think you'll find you've done well coming here. It was a good conversation started with other guests anyway! Overall we can not recommend this hotel enough and we will be back next year!
