Iberostar Cozumel All Inclusive

Lovely resort with something for everyone! We loved the buffet meals, the pool is inviting and the service is outstanding. We want to send a special shout out to the restaurant manager Yoania for her kindness and impeccable customer service. My younger son loved the kid's camp and we want to say thank you to Ismael, Sol and Rosa for making his time there the best. The lunch buffett was okay but the snack shack near the pool was a great alternative with burgers, hot dogs, fries, fruit, desserts and soft serve. Pool service was great although sometimes it was hard to find someone but overall we were pleased. Thank you to Ruby, Ana and Irene for bringing us drinks. Overall a great resort for families. We will be back!

Went on a three day trip to finish my SCUBA certification with my husband. We are mid 30s from NYC no kids. See categories below! FOOD AND DRINK: Great all-inclusive resort, loved the breakfast buffet and all the restaurant options for dinner. Had great meals with variety of healthy options. We are from NYC and pretty picky, but were pleasantly surprised by food options and quality. Was worried the inclusive alcoholic drinks would be touristy fruity nonsense but found the lobby bar had decent cocktail choices and could make proper drinks. One option for wine, beer, and prosecco included at meals with option for add on wine from a menu. Only bummer was lunch - everything closes from about 4-6 expect a crappy lunch shack on the beach with mediocre burgers and hot dogs. Since we arrived during that time the first day and after each scuba session that was the only thing open and we just waited until dinner instead. ATMOSPHERE: We came primarily for Scuba so hotel activities weren’t high on the list, but they were definitely pretty touristy / lame - Bingo, pool games, themed dance nights and shows like 80s night. People seemed to enjoy but wasn’t for us. Decent amount of kids but not over welcoming for a family friendly report but wouldn’t go for a romantic vacation. GROUNDS: The resort was really lovely, large but walkable and very jungly, felt like you were in nature everywhere you went, very green and beautiful. Best part was the animals!! So many amazing creatures - parrots, flamingos, a hawk, peahens and a peacock (do not go here if you hate birds lol), coati, lizards, iguanas, kitties and more. Was such a nice surprise to have all the animals. SERVICE: All staff was amazing! Kind, helpful, and friendly. Considering the state of the world at the moment they welcomed Americans a hell of a lot better than I could have. Thank you everyone for your amazing hospitality in a terrible time. SCUBA: Dressel Divers was a great dive shop. I was able to finish my certification and have amazing dives in huge reefs filled with so many colorful fish, eels, sharks, rays, and more. They were very helpful, organized, well priced, and the guides were great. Went on a scuba trip too and still saw a ton of new stuff at different locations. TRAVEL: Biggest bummer was getting there from the Cancun airport. Took longer than we expected, but on us for not researching that part as much. From the airport take a bus or taxi 50 min to ferry at Playa Del Carmen then a 45 min ferry to Cozumel then a 25 min taxi to resort (I think this last Taxi should be provided by the hotel and included - or at least offer a shuttle a few times a day). So 3+ hours. But once you’re at the resort there’s no reason to leave. Hope this helps anyone planning their trip!

All I gotta say is WOW. I’ve stayed at a lot of resorts/ all in-inclusive, and I have to say that Iberostar Waves in Cozumel has them all beat. I love to travel frequently and things I look for in a place to stay are; location, amenities, convenience, hospitality and quality. The location was PERFECT. Loved the hut my kid and I stayed in. It’s cold inside during hot days out, cute and clean with complete and very sufficient toiletries. The view was gorgeous. Steps away from the beach. Slept perfect at night, couldn’t hear a thing. Family friendly resort with several restaurants with diff cuisines, and snack bar and bars in general, inside the resort. You’ll never get hungry. Lol Fav cuisine was the smoke house (get the 12 hr cooked brisket with empanadas and cream corn) Spa was amazing. I fell asleep during massage. Gym had a complete set up. I worked out everyday being able to hit all muscle groups. Two large pools, volley ball area, archery, ping pong, pickle ball court and set up, corn hole, snorkeling, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. With the second largest coral reef in the WORLD, and a scuba dive company inside the resort on the beach, you bet I dove! I saw so much sea life down there. Gorgeous colors and fishes. Amazing instructor. Convenient store and gift shop and a tattoo shop onsite. And taxis available all day/eve. The beach was just BEAUTIFUL. They kept the beach and water clean. With lots of beach chairs to lay on and a couple with shading and cabanas you can reserve. The huts were either in the garden area, lots of tall trees and plants and flower, with so many animals! So many Flamingos, plenty of peacocks, coati’s( southern cousin of raccoons), parrots (Pepe the parrot loves to be pet), outdoor cat cafe w so many cats - all spayed/neutered. The hospitality they had was top tier. Everyone was attentive. The entire staff had such a positive attitude and read the guests body language and facial expressions well, and made sure to immediately assist. Always greeting and so much patience. From the very beginning to the end, my daughter and I were well taken cared of. Jesse from guest services really took care of my kid and I, setting up excursions and a driver for a whole day for her birthday. (Warning, when you arrive at the airport, other companies will try to sell you excursions that are incomparable to the ones your resort will give. Esp Iberostar) From Jesse being on top of everything with such a bright attitude, we had an unforgettable stay. We really appreciate the welcoming smiles and the act of urgency. Didn’t feel any stress. On our last day, one of the hostess in restaurant realized it was my kid and i’s last day, and she hugged us when we left. Never spoke to her other than eye contact and being assisted to our table, yet she knew we were leaving. Front desk never left us at our own devices, made sure taxi assisted us immediately to head back to airport. Jesse from guest services kept an eye on us from across the room of the lobby, making sure I had zero questions and left the resort happy. I can go on and on and the deals this resort also offers, extremely worth the booking. I will be back! And will suggest to all friends and family. Thank you SO SO much again for everything!!! Highly recommend this place. The staff really, really cares about what they do. And it shows. - Marie

Yoania, Michael, Rupio, Alfredo were really helpful! We appreciated all the staff, the cleanliness of the the resort and all of the wildlife here. Beautiful place! The food was out of this world and we really liked the variety! Everyday it was something different

YOANIA the manager, ALFREDO, FLOR, RUPINO, CARLOS, VICTOR, NATALIA, AND DAVID ALL STOOD OUT TO ME!!! They were absolutely amazing and more than helpful throughout our entire trip and stay here. ALFREDO always made me laugh and became an easy person to laugh 🤣 with. RUPINO was always my go to when ALFREDO wasnt available and had a very similar and likeable personality! Flor was exceptionally sweet and very kind. CARLOS? VICTOR?AND DAVID Just absolutely attentive while waiting on our table anytime we ate. Food was a gigantic variety and very well presented. Unlike any experience we had back in the states. But YOANIA! NOW YOANIA?! She was absolutely incredible to deal with and on a personal level. She was very passionate and extremely helpful for many many things! One of which was Everytime
