New years eve nightmare (2026)

The food was average, always came cold, the chicken was dry as paper towel and the steak pale as rice, but overall, the best part of our New Year’s Eve celebration. The wine Alturas, Casa Silva (Chile) (250 Aud) tasted awful most likely too old (2018), handled and stored with no proper care. I give this opinion with proper knowledge as I’m Chilean and have tried this beautiful wine a few times before. The staff didn’t know what they were there for, lost, incapable to communicate running around for nothing. I felt like having to beg for someone to take our order, even worst, to make them remember that we had already order after 30 minutes wait. The “Host”, she didn’t know anything about the role. Floating around with no purpose. We had taken the time the day prior to check in on where our table would be located. Upon arrival she sent us to the back sans view and was unapologetic despite an email confirmation of an ocean view and us coming in to check the day before for confirmation. Terrrible experience would not recommend this place.

Beautiful rooms, impeccable service. Right on the beach and the food at the restaurant is amazing. I want to give a big shout out to Eka at reception who was so helpful in organising bags to be collected from another establishment. She deserves a raise! Make sure you book your holiday here, you will love it.
