Official Description

Great hotel, but aspects of stay ruined by loud music from a bar opposite

The hotel was situated on a beach and it also had a good sized pool. The room was very clean, had a fridge and two bottles of water supplied daily, as well as toiletries. The breakfast was excellent, there was lots of choice and it was cooked extremely well. We loved the hotel, but would not book a room on a Friday or Saturday night in the future because of the bar ILOK opposite the hotel which had music blaring and thudding out until the early hours of the morning. We called reception at 2:15 am and they told us the police have been called. Unfortunately the same music began again on the Saturday evening at 6 pm, but when we went down to complain again & went out, it was much lower when we returned a couple of hours later. Our room was near the road and possibly if you had a room at the back you wouldn’t hear it, but this really did spoil 2 nights of our stay. It is not the fault of the hotel, but still very frustrating. If this had not happened I would have given the hotel 5 stars.

The good points are firstly the location, on a pleasant, clean beach, and the pool area, which is nicely landscaped. I felt food was pretty average. The town is a working one and surrounding area is somewhat scruffy though there are some smart bars and restaurants hidden along the main road. Rooms reminded me of a Travelodge and I was not impressed by being charged for breaking a cheap glass tumbler - seemed a bit tight and petty.

The food was delicious, and there were comfortable spacious clean rooms. The pool was very clean, the buffet was excellent and had more vegetarian options to choose. We were hoping to come back again soon...

We had an absolutely amazing time at Insight Resort in Ahangama.The location was perfect and sea view was soo nice and very calm.The hotel was beautiful and had delicious foods.The staff at this resort were so friendly and helpful.They made our stay so comfotable and enjoyable.We had a great stay and we would definetly stay here again in 2024..We wish you all the best Insight..

Sri Lanka tour and the Beach Holiday

We started our round trip in Sri Lanka from Colombo to Segiriya, Galoya, Nuwareeloya and the final destination to Ahangama for a beach retreat. In the onset we must thank the tour operator NKAR Travel House for providing a very comfortable Bus and a qualified Driver and a Conductor for the care extended on our safety and comfort. Insite Resort in Ahangama gave us the much needed comfort after the lengthly tour. The hotel which is rated a 3* category is an understatement. The quality of room, and amenities the food offering, the international spar and the staff service quality, we will rate this a 3*superior hotel. We were initially booked to be in standard rooms. But for a small upgrade we were able to be in large air conditioned rooms which overwhelmed us. It was the festive season in Sri Lanka. The hotel was full of activity offering action stations making Sri Lankan traditional sweets for all guest. The beach was really private. Our lunch exception organized by the hotel was the highlight of the tour. beside the marvelous lunch we had a traditional Well bath with Toddy. We were all fit driving back to Colombo.
