Irene Wellness, Aghios Gordios

We have just returned from a wonderful 7 day holiday at Irene Apartments. We stayed in the Irene Wellness Apartments, and our apartment was superb; modern, spotless with an amazing balcony view over the swimming pool and mountains. The scenery here is breathtaking and would recommend paying the extra for an Irene Wellness apartment, it’s so worth it; a stones throw away too from the pool and bar. The staff are what makes this place. A big shout out to Greg and his young team, Eva, Dora, and Lola., all of whom are masters at providing outstanding customer service, smiley, helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. They work so hard to meet their guest’s needs. Such great role models. We ate at the bar most days as the food was so good. Breakfast was just right, continental buffet style, and so nice to have decent coffee too! The pool area is spotless, plenty of Sun loungers and brollies, all looking relatively new. The pool staff provide an excellent drinks/ meals service to your sun longer, bliss! The negative reviews on here are contrary to our experience and maybe are down to people not researching and picking the right type of accommodation for their needs. My advice is to go for the apartments in the wellness block (there are several Irene Apartment blocks scattered around Agios Gordios ) and you won’t be disappointed. We would definitely go back again. The Lemon Tree bar in the village is also worth a visit in the evening - great buzzy vibe. Beach only about 10 minute walk away. Beautiful tranquil and peaceful setting. A real jewel.

We are still here as I write this. I have seen the other recent reviews and feel I need to redress the balance. This is the third year running we have been here. We stay in the Wellness apartments. They are immaculate and have everything you could need. The pool area and bar is fantastic. It's also immaculate. The grass surrounding the pool is like a bowling green. They take great care of the place. This is a family run accommodation and they take great care to make you feel welcome. There is a reason that almost everyone here has been coming back for years. If you are willing to be friendly back you will love it. Some people turn up expecting a 5* resort. This isn't that, it's a friendly, relaxing lovely spot. A few minutes to the beach and the lovely town with many options for meals and drinks. The food at the bar is lovely. I can't comment on the older part of the accommodation which is adjacent to the road but the wellness apartments are lovely. I've travelled lots of countries and done the "all inclusive" resorts as the children grew up. I couldn't stand to do that again. This place is our go to place for relaxation and friendly people.
