Ixchel Beach Hotel

This hotel is awesome!!! The location is unbeatable. It’s located beachfront right on Playa Norte. In my opinion, this beach is the best in the world. Spectacular turquoise color, white sand, minimal small waves for a relaxing swim, a long stretch of water to swim in, and a super refreshing temperature for the hot climate. We were in the ocean all day for 5 days straight and still did not tire of it. Our favorite part about this beach is the lack of waves! No annoying sand in your bikini or hair that you’re struggling to wash out lol. It’s also located on Calle Hidalgo, which is the Main Street of the north side of Isla mujeres. This makes it so easy to find anything you are looking for including restaurants, street taco stands, coconut and fruit carts, bars, and souvenir shops. They have great amenities including beach chairs and umbrellas and communal floaties to use, which are all abundant so we never struggled to find any. The hotel has two pools, which we personally did not use because we prefer the ocean, but they looked nice. The hotel has amazing ocean views, even from our lowest priced room LOL. The room was really nice with spectacular A/C. Great bathroom with great water pressure. So much storage for all our things!! The hotel was super quiet our entire stay. Definitely a place to have a relaxing vacation, which is exactly what we were looking for. They have an on-site restaurant called Kalak, which is awesome! Every dish we tried was really good! We tried shrimp ceviche, tostones with ceviche, garlic fried shrimp, shrimp and steak fajitas, French fries, green chicken chilaquiles, egg white omelette, and Nutella pancakes. All these dishes were very good, but our favorite was the shrimp ceviche! Drinks were also good. Our favorites were the limonada and naranjada, which are super refreshing and perfect for a hot beach day. They also have coffee including americanos and lattes with 3 syrup flavor choices (hazelnut, caramel, vanilla). Overall the restaurant was fantastic, we were surprised to see some negative reviews about the food. In summary, if you are considering a stay here, DO IT! We had a fantastic time and will be returning in the future.

Thos place is the best. We have stayed in many places in the U.S. and in other countries and this hotel rates right at the top. The staff is EXCELLENT. The best beach on the island is a 2 minute walk and the palapa restaurants on the beach (3 of them) serve very, very good food. I had fish tacos 3 days and their mixed ceviche, (fish, octopus & shrimp) and it was excellent. We won't go anywhere else.

Ixchel is the best. It's an easy walk to restaurants and bars. This hotel is right on Playa Norte, and the staff was excellent and assisted with anything we needed. The only time you will need a cab or a golf cart is to go to the island's south end. This island has such a great vibe!!!!

First time in Isla Mujeres. First time at this hotel. Front desk staff were nice, although could have been more verbal with us on daily basis. Rooms were cleaned daily if needed. Pool side bar was very nice to give husband ICE daily as needed since there was no ice in hotel for clients. Pool nice and clean.

My husband and I stayed here in April with another couple, we each had a 1 bedroom suite with gorgeous views of the pool, beach and ocean. The rooms are awesome, spacious, love the bathroom, the bed is kingsize and very, very comfortable. The personnel upon check in and every one we met that worked here was pleasant and you were always greeted with a smile. We didn't eat or drink here so can't provide reviews for that. But the access to the beach was quick and easy, we utilized the pool several times which is gorgeous. This is my husband and mine 2nd time staying here and we will definitely return!
