Jalsa Beach Hotel & Spa Mauritus

Jalsa beach was a wonderful experience. The resort was exceptionally clean and the grounds were well kept. The staff were warm, friendly and kind. It was quiet as we went off season and the temperature was similar to the UK. It is tucked away which suited us. The proximity of the pool to the private shallow beach was a big plus as my daughter could play in both and I could supervise her from the lounger without having to keep moving around following her. It felt very safe and security were at the gated entrance and patrolled the grounds through the night. There was a good range of entertainment: gym, spa, giftshop, aqua aerobics, DJ night, karoke, cocktail making, making bracelets. There was even a cultural night with a demonstration of local dance and music, we were invited to join in at the end which was great fun. There was a good range of food, with the salads, seafood and desserts being my favourite. The staff made food especially for my daughter as she is vegetarian but doesn't like chilli. They even surprised me with a birthday cake for my 50th. It was a truly special experience, laid back vibe, quiet and friendly, feels more like a 4 to 4.5 star resort. Stunning part of the world that hasn't been spoilt by over tourism.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It's very cosy and perfect for relaxing. Despite being a 3-star hotel, the food was surprisingly tasty, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were very welcoming. It was my birthday during the stay, and they surprised me with a complimentary birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Overall, great value for money and a wonderful experience. Fatima

On our final day of a wonderful family holiday to Jalsa Beach. In terms of location this hotel is perfect, it has its own small beach leading out to a shallow blue sea. Due to the hotel being quite small all the rooms here are a 30 second walk to the sea. It looks like most of the rooms here have a sea view and good sized balcony so it’s really quite idyllic. The rooms has super king sized beds too which is a bonus. The hotel has a choice of sunbeds available either by the pool or on the beach, the beach ones are located under the shade of coconut trees which is perfect for me. The best part of staying here has definitely been the staff. Everyone has been extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel manager has made sure we’re enjoying our stay by speaking with us most days and arranging things like packed lunches when we’ve organised day trips away from the hotel. I’ve read some bad reviews on here about the food. The food is well cooked but the kitchen and serving area is quite small so there won’t be the same wide range of options like in larger hotels but every day we’ve had a choice of at least 4 different meats at dinner as well as pasta and rice options. For breakfast the range is quite large with bacon, sausages, pancakes and a cook to prepare you omelettes or fried eggs to your specifications In summary, given the location and great staff, this place is a diamond of a find given the cost of the holiday. It is definitely somewhere I would return to
