Amazing holiday, service and hospitality

This is now our 4th stay at Jumeirah in Dubai. The service and hospitality is really quite amazing that can’t be matched anywhere else in the world. We checked into Villa 25 - room 2509 which is in a relatively private location between 10th and the 15th August. Our room overlooked the private swimming pool which is exclusive to Dar Al Masayaf guests only. The e-butler service via whatsapp was very quick with replies when we required. We also had the option of ringing the butler service for any requests that we may have had. The buggy service from villa to wherever we wanted to go on the complex was also very efficient. The exclusive pool was often quiet and the abra drivers along with the buggy drivers were simply amazing. Gaurav checked us in and his customer service was brilliant. We walked past Gauravs desk a few times during our stay and he was a lovely, soft natured and warm gentleman and we finally met him at the end of our stay and he put smiles on our faces. The breakfast at Mina Salam restaurant was superb. The variety, service and freshness of food was something we’ve not experienced before. Breakfast does get busy after 10am. Recommended to try and get there a little before 10am. Kids loved the Al Qasr splash pool. They also loved the sinbads club at Al Qasr which is also complimentary and also the free wild wadi entry. We also received a voucher for free access to Motiongate located near Lapita hotel – this is provided if we stay 3 nights or more at Jumeirah. Free shuttle coach transports to motiongate (approx 45 min drive). Motiongate caters for all ages from 3 and above. Overall a fantastic holiday and brilliant experience once again at Jumeirah. We tried meeting Trishna from Mina Salam from last year who was also amazing at checking us in and providing us a service - kindly send our congratulations onto her.

Not the service we expected ….

We are currently staying at the hotel which I booked as a surprise treat to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. I had very high expectations following our stay at the Mina Al Salaam a few years ago which i could only describe as impeccable. I’m writing the review today following a disappointing incident at breakfast. My husband and an I were greeted by the host who remembered we were family of three. I informed him it just the two us this morning as our son (who is 13 years old) was still in bed due to a series of late nights. I asked the host if it would be ok for me to take up a few pastries for him so he could have breakfast when he woke up (we have paid for a bed and breakfast package) who stated it would be fine and a waiter would deliver breakfast to our room. However, when we asked a young man (in a grey suit) he told us we were not allowed to take any item of food from the restaurant. He reluctantly agreed after I told him a colleague had said it was ok and returned some time later with a small DIRTY take out container for us to use. I left the restaurant after telling him it was unacceptable for us to use it. After relaying our experience to the host that had originally given us a positive response we were now told ‘well sometimes they don’t’ We took our son to the souk Madinat Jumeirah for breakfast as I refused to pay the hotel for two breakfasts for him!!! An unexpected and unnecessary incident which has left a bad taste.

Another great holiday at Dar al Masyaf

Another enjoyable family holiday at Dar al Masyaf. We have been going for many years and still think it’s the best family hotel in Dubai. Special mention to Abbos the manager who always goes above and beyond to look after the guests. Sharif the Villa Butler this year was excellent and nothing was too much to look after the guests. Sultan looked after us all really well around the pool and interacted really well with the kids. We will be back again next year.
