Super holiday based at Kanapitsa Mare

We arrived late and were welcomed by a very nice lady. When we opened the door we were amazed to see we had been upgraded to a wonderful suite with 2 bathrooms, jacuzzi, huge living room, gorgeous views from the large, private balcony. Sheets and towels changed daily by a lovely lady. The hotel lounges were gorgeous, lovely pool, pleasant breakfast room with good breakfast choices. I picked the hotel for the location where we always stay (15 times), near Nostos beach with water taxi to town. Great restaurants nearby, Barracoa, Infinity Blue, Sklithri. We had a super holiday, thank you so much.

Sat on our balcony on out last day of a weeks holiday with fantastic sea views on the 6th floor. On arrival we were allocated a standard room with sea view in a standard room, wasn't happy with room as had a bad smell and our view was blocked by a pylon, so asked to change rooms, which the friendly receptionist was happy to do so , but had to pay for a upgrade 70 euros for the week, money we'll spent. Hotel had a nice pool and pool bar serving drinks and lunch which was served by happy helpful staff. We enjoyed the breakfasts every morning, which had plenty of choice and replenished often. Room was cleaned every day and was spotless. Overall a good hotel with great staff and I would recommend

This is not a 4* hotel

You get what you pay for - it was a cheap holiday, but this bears no resemblance to other 4* hotels I’ve stayed in. Tired, dated, broken. Pool edged with green slime. Loo flush underpowered to say the least. Breakfast is GRIM. Hotel is in a good location, views are beautiful. Lovely beach a few minutes away. Picture of FILTHY sunbed. Skiathos lovely.

This hotel is not 4 star! On arrival we were greeted by the receptionist who was friendly and checked us in without any problems. We arrived to our room to be greeted with a hair ball left in the toilet from what looked to be out of the plug hole and had not been discarded and the balcony which was covered with bird poo. When raising the issue with reception the cleaner did come to clean the balcony and the toilet however the reception staff were very defensive over this as ‘the bird mess is out of their control’ this is understandable however this mess had not been cleaned for days prior to our arrival. The cleaner advised when cleaning that she was not made aware that anyone was checking in and that is why the room had not been thoroughly checked (not an excuse for a 4* hotel in my opinion). We were offered to change room however there was no rooms available on the day of arrival and this was not followed up following this. There was mould on one of the walls in the room which was hidden by a curtain. Breakfast was mediocre not replenished enough and not a great variety. Our room was not cleaned until 7:30pm on 2 of the days which meant that as we were in the room getting ready for the evening the room was not cleaned properly and one of the mornings the bathroom was cleaned whilst we were sleeping!! THE DOOR WAS LOCKED! This is not very secure! Overall, the hotel is very average and far from 4* I would not stay here again, the hotel is atmosphereless and when asking for assistance the main receptionist was very dismissive which made you not want to ask for further assistance!
