This hotel has the potential to be fantastic but it is in desperate need of some basic renovations. We found all staff to be fantastic and didn’t experience problems with cleanliness. The housekeeper visited daily, there were staff constantly cleaning the communal and dining areas and any mess was at the hands of slobby guests and not at the fault of the hotel. The bar staff and reception staff were polite and friendly with us at all times - perhaps because kindness breeds kindness. The entertainment staff were incredible. The shows demonstrated talent and humour from a small group of ‘animators’ from around the world and they seemed to have a strong positive relationship with the entertainment coordinator which was nice to see. She was very enthusiastic. Our only complaint was their Thursday day off because we missed them! We liked the food! I am a big foodie and my main concern about staying all inclusive was the lack of variety/local cuisines in a buffet but this wasn’t the case at all. There were a lot of local dishes, plenty of variation and some solid classics - Greek yoghurt and honey, feta salad etc - alongside a kids buffet with the standard fries etc. I imagine any complaints about the food quality would be from people expecting a sea of beige but even our fussy 6 year old found plenty to eat. It was a typical all-inclusive buffet so don’t expect top level cuisine but it definitely wasn’t bad. My main complaint was the comfort of the room - the beds were very hard (although we did get used to this) and the pillows were thin. We were in a 2 bedroom family room which meant, as a party of 5, that my daughter had a sofa bed in the ‘living area’ (more like an entrance hall) which was not air conditioned so we had to move sofa into the second bedroom so she could sleep. The bathroom was falling apart (the shower rail was literally held up with duct tape and the shower head rusted apart in my hand) but this was fixed quickly. The shower was awful though - odd placement, low down and not powerful at all. The fridge was very old but it did work to keep our water cold. We purchased water from the garage across the road and just used the bar for other drinks. The bar varied in how busy it was, sometimes you could queue for ages and other times you could walk straight up. The sun beds weren’t a problem at all. We put our towels down on the way to breakfast - half 8/9 so not early and always got a bed by the pool and usually at least partly in shade. Recommend a trip into Kos Town. The bus goes right from outside rhe the hotel. It’s pretty cheap and only 15/20mins away. Buses get rammed though. Overall I would recommend lowering your expectations to a 3 star, and the rooms maybe a 2, but appreciate it for what it is. A simple, fun, Greek hotel in a great location with fun pools and great staff. We only paid a 3 star price so I think it a a fair representation of that.
