Koa Kea Hotel & Resort

The resort has new/up to date fixtures. The towel service is excellent with fluffy soft towels. Twice daily room service was exceptional. We loved the quite relaxed atmosphere. Red Salt restaurant on property is superb. We will look to book again on our next visit to Kauai

Overall not a bad spot. Very quiet and we stayed here for part of our honeymoon. Overall I would recommend to just stay full time up north or to pick another resort down south to stay in for the same price. It was nice don’t get me wrong but for the price I would rather stay at other spots.

We did not stay at the resort, but I did visit the spa for a 90 minute massage. My masseuse, (I think Debbie, but now my mind doesn't work, I’m so relaxed), was soothing, amazing, and intuitive when it came to sore spots and loosening knots. After 12 hours of flying and layovers to get to Kauai, I am now ready to officially start my vacation. Now, if only I can find my room…

My daughter and I enjoyed 5 fabulous days at this resort! We loved the location of our room on ground floor facing pool area and partial Ocean view. It was an easy access to walk out to the beach and watch the sunset. We enjoyed the morning Yoga classes and fine dining.

I decided to embark on my first ever solo trip in my 30s for some R&R. Having been to Kauai with my family 3-4 times, it felt like the best place to go because of how familiar it is and the comfort of somewhere I’ve been. I did some research and I knew I wanted to stay in Poipu. I found Ko’a Kea online and was really really impressed with their reviews (and the in depth hotel comparisons I read on Reddit too!) I was truly treated like a queen and I loved every moment of it ;) Naomi, Becky, Joanna - all these ladies made the stay so personable and intentional. The room they gave me was ground level right behind the hot tub which was so convenient for coming and going. The bellman asked if I liked tea and immediately brought me a full kettle with mugs and an assortment of tea bags! The robes were lush, the bathroom is HUGE, and the TV was giant too (not that you go to watch tv but still it was a nice touch). I really, really enjoyed the free morning yoga every day too. As well as the option for morning mass which was so refreshing! I was blessed by my time there and the ability to connect with my faith tradition even away from home. I think my favorite is the easy access to the beach and pool - I literally alternated like every hour lol. And right around dusk they light all the totem lights and two fire pits and it’s just magnificent. I would lay on the lounge chairs every evening watching the sunset! Finally, I got a minor injury after swimming in the ocean on my last night but Traci was SO kind and helpful to get me ice and first aid. I thought he was a doctor! lol. So so grateful for this staff and the way they made me have the best week ever. Highly recommend this cozy resort, you can’t go wrong! Oh and indulge on the pool bar food and cocktails. so good!!! PS - only piece of feedback I would offer to consider is that because the resort is smaller, so is the pool and there don’t seem to be enough pool chairs to accommodate every guest. There are daybeds available for rent but I noticed they’d go unused the majority of the time. It would be nice to offer that to guests who don’t have a spot to lay down if the beds aren’t rented out? Or just a few additional chairs perhaps. That’s all!! :) Thank you and God bless you!
