Wow, this is a very special place to stay outside of the hubbub of Ubud. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by jungle and the sounds of frogs, birds and geckos. We stayed in one of the Premier Valley Pool Villas that had a very spacious bedroom with a king bed, a desk and chair, a couch and coffee table, a cabinet with a mini fridge and fresh fruit, air conditioning control and sliding glass doors that opened out onto a deck. The deck had a table and two chairs, two lounge chairs and a lovely private pool overlooking the jungle. The bathroom was huge, with two sinks, lots of counter space and two different places for hanging clothing. There was a big indoor, as well as an outdoor, shower. Breakfast, which was included, offered both a big buffet as well as both Balinese and Western menu items. Also included was daily afternoon “tea” by the beautiful main pool which offered all kinds of sweet and savory snacks as well as coffee, tea and very good local rose wine. The food was delicious. The staff — at the front desk, in the restaurant, and around the grounds — was very warm, welcoming and responsive. When we mentioned to one of the staff that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, our room was decorated for the occasion! There was often live gamelan music being played in the dining room and plenty of invitations for us to join in various cultural activities. We watched the staff prepare the offerings for the annual festival of one of the Hindu goddesses and attended the ceremony at the hotel temple the following morning with the staff and the owners of the hotel. Overall, it was a very memorable four days.
