We had a very pleasant week at Kuramathi. The resort is spacious, clean, and overall well designed. Our Deluxe Water Villa was comfortable and well appointed, and the island itself offers a great setting for a relaxing stay. * What Truly Stands Out: The marine activities are excellent and clearly the highlight of the resort: The Dive Centre (Samira Schwab) is highly professional, responsive, and very well organized. The Expedition Centre (Ali Ashraq) delivered a fantastic private snorkeling experience, with genuine knowledge and care for the local environment. The house reef is beautiful and remains one of the resort’s strongest assets. * Where the Experience Falls Short While the facilities are good, the overall experience is affected by noticeable inconsistencies and some avoidable issues: 1. Restaurant bookings & process reliability We experienced repeated issues with dinner reservations not being properly registered, despite prior confirmation. The situation was eventually resolved, but only after several days and escalation. This points to areas where internal coordination could be improved. 2. Food consistency Some restaurants are very good and reliable (BBQ, Thai, Reef). Others are inconsistent. For example, the French restaurant delivered one excellent meal and one much weaker experience. The “teppanyaki” experience at Kobe is more entertainment-focused and may not meet expectations if you are looking for a strong culinary experience. 3. Service consistency Service can be excellent with some staff, and noticeably less engaged with others (especially at reception). Pre-arrival communication was also slower than expected at times. 4. Transport (buggies) Essential on a large island and generally working, but availability can be uneven at peak times. A simple tracking feature in the app would improve the experience significantly. * Points That Should Be Addressed A few situations stood out as areas for improvement: 1.) Being briefly held at departure over a very small charge (USD 4), which had not been clearly identified beforehand. This was resolved, but could have been handled more smoothly given timing and context (boat transfer departure). 2.) Repeated, unsolicited approaches from third-party tour representatives (TUI, non-hotel staff) during the stay, which felt intrusive and blurred the service experience. * Overall Positioning Kuramathi feels like a well-run, high-volume resort, with many guests arriving through tour operators. This has advantages (availability, variety, not overcrowded), but also means the experience can feel less personalized—especially for direct bookings. * Final Thoughtson what Kuramathi offers: - Comfortable accommodation - Excellent diving and excursions - A beautiful natural setting However, it does not always feel like a resort striving for top-tier consistency. With stronger process control and more consistent service standards, it could clearly reach a higher level. Rating: B+ to A- overall, with strong potential if execution improves.

Cannot recommend this resort enough. 2nd visit after 10 years. It’s changed enough that the updates have improved certain areas, but not changed enough to have spoilt the experience. The staff are such an asset. Far too many to name but Kathy and all her staff at the Island Cafe bar are so friendly and professional and kept the wine flowing for leaving long relaxing lunches. The chicken wings were amazing. Being abit on the fussy side, nothing was too much trouble. Chef always accommodated my tweaks to many dishes. Marion and all her bar staff at the Sand Bar were so efficient and chatty. Always big smiles. Strawberry daiquiris are to die for. All the restaurant staff are so helpful, pleasant and efficient. Mandeel and Herlin to mention a few. Genuine smiles. All staff spoke highly of the resort and it shows that the staff are happy in their work. We did SI and the à la carte restaurants are all fabulous. Our favorite, which is hard to choose was Island Bbq. The steak Diane was fabulous. Thank you to our flambé chef. Kobe for a fun filled yet delicious evening is well worth a visit. The Reef has stunning views over the water and food again fabulous. We did have a room change, but this was dealt with efficiently and in a very friendly manner. Very few negatives but if I was to give constructive criticism, would be at all restaurants I was able to drink Sauvignon Blanc, Chilean. But as soon as you leave restaurant and 1 is literally 1 minute walk away, only house white available. The white is perfectly drinkable. The red not so much. Would be nice to continue drinking the same wine. Also no cava/prosecco available without charge. We had room credit so covers the $8 a glass, but at a resort of the caliber, it should come as standard. Have been to 3* hotels and bubbles is included as standard. Having said that the bar list is extensive and baileys is included which is a bonus. Angelo, from before leaving uk to him meeting us on arrival wa so efficient and helpful. Nothing is too much to ask. We recommend a spa treatment. Lovely experience. Cannot wait to return and will not be leaving it 10 years next time.

This is a parodise island with location that should be 5 stars but in my view they have a lot to do to hit that target I am not a nit picker when I visit countries and hotels but it’s a shame that this resort as fallen short on what I deem as 5 stars We booked through kuoni and as always the service was great on this island you are always upgraded to the next available villa and because there was some upgrades ongoing we got the next one up The villas all seem to be looking dated but everything was good only issue we had was location was a lottery as some parts of the beech were very rocky by how 206 but 208 or 205 you walked straight through the trees to sand just my luck Anyway just a few lines as to why not 5 stars and this is my opinion and my trip only The buffet restaurants are not the best I’ve had better in an all inclusive family holiday in Spain We went all inclusive select which is definitely worth it but because of the way it works every bit of food or drinks you have you have to sign 21st century problem but can be a pain Most drinks in room bar are extra but that’s just an issue if you want a drink in room The Resturants are all lovely We moved in to a water villa for 4 nights but weren’t to lucky a beautiful room with a glorious out look but no hot water and low pressure we did get hot water to a point but pressure the same the front door lock broke as well issues I wouldn’t have expected in such an expensive room Please it’s still worth visiting but don’t expect five star luxury in the next year or 2 or unless money is spent on the villas
