Kuredu Island Resort & Spa

Excellent stay at the Kuredu, February/March 2026. Weather was great and the island incredible. Clean and beautiful. Lush vegetation, powder soft white sand and wonderful clear blue sea. Cannot fault the Kuredu, but if you are intending to go there with TUI you may want to read my comments at the end, if not ignore them as it isn't anything to do with the Kuredu resort. I loved having a guest helper when we arrived and checked in. The guy Aus was excellent throughout our stay. No queue at the reception to check in, he was there 1 to 1 to help you do it. We arrived late (hhhmmmm!!!!! TUI) and he suggested we ate first to recover our thoughts before proceeding to show us our room and to settle in. We thought this was very considerate. We were overjoyed with our room, 10 paces to the sunloungers then another 10 paces to the sea. Perfect for us and the type of holiday we enjoy. Perhaps it wasn't the most modern, 441 but we considered it more than acceptable and loved the outside bathroom. Khim who looked after our room was a credit to the resort. Everyday he went about his business with a smile on his face. Nothing was too much trouble and he did an excellent job. Thank you to him for lightening up our days. We were assigned to the Bonthi restaurant. We thought the food was very good and the staff even better. Feedback to management about Wahid who was excellent. Being Indian we had good banter about the Cricket, even if India did beat England in the T20 semi-final when we were there. He was a top bloke. We went on excursions with both Kuredu and Prodivers. We thought the Prodivers were best. On the all day boat trip with them the guide was a German lady with black hair who was so excited about the trip it engaged all of us into having a great day. The swimming with Nurse sharks was not only the highlight of this holiday but of every holiday I have had. On the Turtle Airport trip the other guests flew home early due to the problems with flights, Prodivers honoured the trip so there was just the wife and I having the boat all to ourselves. We also loved the foodtruck and bar on the sundowners beach. It only opened between 11.00-1.00pm but they did a great burger or wrap with chips for about $9. It included a view to die for with a beer, especially as most guests went for lunch at 1pm and the area was deserted. Overall the holiday was excellent. But some other observations (not moans just advice to those arriving). I took a lot of sleeveless tops but you are not allowed these in the restaurants. Even at breakfast. Ladies were allowed to wear bikini tops and see through wraparounds which did seem a bit strange but they do highlight the dress code on the app and website so my fault for not reading it. The all-inclusive bit does seem a bit complicated and divisive. We are not big alcohol drinkers so went Full Board. Glad we did as we spent about $900 on drinks for 2 for 2 weeks which would have cost $2000 if we went AI but that's just us as we didn't sit round the pool all day drinking much at the bar. The wife would spend $6 on a can of Coke and I was going for the bottle of Heinekin which was on promo for $8 so $14 a round (£10ish). Perhaps they should rename them as packages instead of AIs so guests don't get the wrong impression that all is included with the AI options. For what we paid I feel it was an excellent holiday at Kuredu. I gave the Kuredu 5 stars as I felt it unfair to critisise it for the failings of TUI so here we go. I have used TUI for over 20 years as I felt they have never let me down and in my view have provided excellent support and service when on holiday. But not this time. When we booked via a call centre we arranged to transfer to the resort via seaplane. We even have email confirmation of this as I requested. When we arrived at Male the TUI rep was not great. He directed us to 'B9' which he pointed to so we assumed the 100m trek was the seaplane connection. I was wrong it was a domestic flight. We walked back but the TUI rep but he had disappeared. We had to wait 5 hours in a not very appealing area for our flight. On the return it was even worse as we had to wait 7 hours...!!!! Be prepared for this as it is not a great start to your holiday. A complaint has already been made to TUI. The only downside to the Kuredu is the unfortunate fact they have the worlds worst and rudest TUI rep on site. We had direct flights back home to Heathrow so the Middle East problem wasn't something we thought we had a problem with. But Aus, our Guest Helper had the decency to check the Virgin Flights and informed us the one prior to ours had been cancelled on its return so it may be a good idea to keep checking our flight. Online the cancelled Virgin flight was due to airspace issues in the Middle East. This spooked us a little so seeing as we only had 18 hours till we had to leave we thought it a good idea to see the TUI rep for information on their policies and procedures regarding a cancelled flight so we were aware what to do should he not be around. We started off politely but it degenerated into a heated discussion. We felt he did not listen and was solely interested in his tablet saying our flight was not yet cancelled and why are we asking about something that has not happened. He was not prepared to explain anything any further until our flight was cancelled. He stormed off after a while, phoned our helper Aus who arrived with a guy called Rajmani. This polite, courteous man from the Kuredo resort answered our concerns within 30 seconds. Explaining we could stay on etc and that TUI were one of the better operators to deal with who would even charter extra planes to get people home if need be. He explained other information and we left extremely grateful to Rajmani and Aus for their help and cooperation. A complaint has already been made to TUI.

We had an amazing experience at kuredu resort and spa! Amazing service and place. Our host Chaterine was great and was available to reach all hours. We really have no complaints at all. Everyone at kuredu really helped us to create a memory for life!

Was lucky enough to book this through travel republic at a good deal last year for my birthday. Went to the Maldives 15 years ago to the south Atoll so though would try the North. We flew the day before the Iran war started as a direct with Virgin Airways ( just a shout out to them - as a poor flyer they were amazing and will defo fly with them again). We stayed in a garden bungalow and despite being the cheaper option was great, clean, quiet, all amenities. We were going to upgrade the 2nd week but decided to stay where we were. The better half went on a full day trip snorkeling and saw everything from 20 sharks, 10 different rays and massive turtles - something he will never forget. The gym was good and we walked everywhere so good for the body. The food was excellent, the better half ate like a king (thankyou Priti who welcomes us) - I wish I knew everyone's name from the cleaners to the ground staff to the chefs were without doubt hardworking, polite and genuinely lovely people. The manager should be very proud. It is not a boutique resort it's a real resort and we spent a very happy 2 weeks here in luckily perfect weather. So a thankyou from the heart from me to everywhere there. You made 2 ordinary people have an amazing 2 weeks.

My family, wife and three year old had a wonderful time at Kuredu. We ended up staying an extra week because of closed airspace. The team at Kuredu are amazing, very friendly with kids. Everything is taken care of so you can completely relax. The island itself is so beautiful with an incredible house reef where we smorkled with sharks and turtles and rays. The beach bbq was an amazing atmosphere, great value and some of the best lobster I've eaten. The closed airspace meant a couple of days could have been stressful whilst our tour operator looked to help us out, but the team and especially our host Sanjini really helped loads. Sanjini was a brilliant host throughout and I wonder when she sleeps as she was on hand morning until night whenever we needed anything. Raj from housekeeping was incredible great to chat to and did a wonderful job. The team in the restaurant were also.reallu great but especially Ajith who looked after us for two weeks and does the best art in the coffee. The food was so good the chefs are just brilliant. Finally the team in Kids Club were also great with our little boy and he loved hanging out in the park and in the club. We wouldn't go to another island now and was so sad to leave when we did.
